Hi, congratulations for this great report. I love this car. This will soon be my first car. It's a shame that I don't have the Enigmatick Black paint anymore. I was wondering if the paddles were essential for the Cooper S? I prefer the Favoured finish, which unfortunately doesn't have the paddles behind the steering wheel.

I've gone EV through Motability, went for a Skoda Enyaq. Being a petrol head I didn't want EV but I am so glad I did better in pretty much everyway to any other ice car I could afford. If I could afford a used taycan I'd go for it as they look like a real bargain used.

Illogical argument. Can't disagree that a used Tycan is good value and if I had the money, would definately buy one at their current prices. I'm not an ev hater. However, he leepfrogged the elephant in the room. He acknowledged that ice porches have appreciated but didn't explain why they don't lose the vat or cost of options as soon as you leave the showroom like on a Tycan. Something else is going on that is the reason for the disproportionate depreciation. All Porche's (other than ltd edition specials) should be depreciating at similar rates, all being equal. Why aren't they? Even if the reasons aren't logical or accurate amongst car buyers, they are more nuanced than the host suggests.

Excellent composition Tom and really meaningful storytelling. We seem to share an affinity for locations such as Skye and Buckstones, from your Mini Cooper S review. As an aside, which accommodation did you stay in? The log fire and great views are an alluring prospect.

Absolutely loved the review. Like one of the other Subscribers mentioned, Its a very balanced review. So much so that I have just booked one. :-). Yeah, not a fan of those tail lamps but that's something I can ignore for the rest of tech and engine in the car has to offer. Thank You.

Think people over state the reliability issues with the Taycan. Yes it’s true the early ones had some issues but most were sorted out with software updates and recalls or under warranty. I’d say that a two to three yr old Taycan should’ve had most of those sorted by now and should offer a good experience. Also a lot of the software issues were able to be reset with a few minutes of power cycling the car, much like a PC reboot.

I have a very important question and maybe you can answer this. I saw a review of this exact same car and also the convertible, and they both had the single exhaust pipe....having said that… why does every other review including yours show no exhaust pipe and also touches on the fact that it doesn't and that might be a problem for consumers. I'm sure you saw the same video I am talking about. Do you have any answers? big fan and thank you.

Just bought one, delivers in 2 weeks. The reviewer jas a JCW trim, the real 231hp one (v 201?) Is a little late out. My dealership had none to show me as supply is low. I test drove this and ordered the full JCW with exhaust and a little faster. My 3rd mini, don't mind not test driving a full JCW tbh. The real JCW has more HP and some other changes, suspension etc? Not sure.... but certainly has a single exhaust.

yes buy a Porsche Taycan because price of it are like of Škoda Octavia obviously , its not its much higher but depreciation of it are so huge that in few years would worth as some basic Škoda Octavia diesel

They used to be the kind of figures you mention on salary sacrifice, but certainly from the company we use, they are double that, plus options. I'm a massive petrol head, but have wanted a Taycan since I saw the first pics. Not a Newby to EV's, had one, wife has one. I DO need the range because of the job I do, therefore I require the new gen taycan. Can't wait for my test drive this week. Also with used porsche's, getting the spec you want .... not easy

What Car surveys answer the question, More than half (58%) of the Taycans in our survey went wrong, with a range of issues including air-con, drive battery/charging, bodywork and various electrical issues. Getting cars fixed was slow, too; 56% were off the road for more than seven days, but at least Porsche covered the cost of 97% of repair work. We have a Tesla model X paid £100k 58k miles value £40k now so they loose a lot less in value no idea why, had no end of issues with it been to the garage 3 times per year, 1 repair was no brakes, other issues being no dashboard displays when driving down the road. only charges up to 93% now! looks like Porsche have addressed the issues they have, with the new 2025 cars.

Lot of comments about range, 200 miles will always be 200 miles even if newer cars can do 400 miles. If its enough its enough , thats not going to change. For anyone who can drive 200 miles in one sitting I take my hat off to you.., realistically, in the UK, 200 miles takes 5 hours ..fact

The U.S.-market "true" JCW model, available in Spring 2025, will develop 228 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The convertible will feature the more traditional tail lights; it and the 2-dr will feature an exposed, single tail pipe. The Countryman ALL4 will feature exposed quad tail pipes. No manual transmission will be available on any model. This data is available MINI's Web site. I'm buying one, most likely a convertible. This'll be my last personal car. Thanks for the informative and entertaining review.

I’ve owned 3 Minis. The newest is a R57 JCW from 2014. I will drive it as long as I can. Since 2014, Minis are not really what they were. I drove all and liked none. And please stop making excuses like „they have to…more tech…“ etc! A Toyota Yaris GR is significantly lighter, has all wheel drive and is more powerful. Minis are made by marketing people rather than engineers imo.

I drive a high-performance petrol already 14 years old, still spot on, with good servicing. I don't think an electric would last that long. I can't prove it yet, by the way.

I’ve had my F66 2.0 cooper S JCW in legend grey with the 18” wheels about a month now and …….. It’s great fun absolutely love it !! It feels so well put together and is loaded with tech and cool features it’s got loads of power and great handling to keep you concentrating on the road 😂 My only gripes are the fact they have done away with the bonnet vent and centre exhausts which separated the cooper from the S ( shame) Very pleased with it

Well don't put the wrong oil in it then..how simple..belts should last for about 120kms to 150kms before changing them, it's a 4 to 5 hour job to change them and providing you put in the right oil and service them on time or even earlier..apart from the belts there a good engine to be honest.

Value added tax makes complete sense. A business makes money as it adds value to something that it sells. A car dealer's value is sourcing, selling you the car and guarantees that it will work for 3 years (used car dealers of course add extra value by fixing shit before they sell it to you). The business doesn't have to pass the cost onto you, it could just pay the bill but its business so as usual the working people pay the tax.

These cars are an evolutionary dead end. There is no way of knowing whether the batteries have been abused. People who plug ev's never mention how the additional weight and torque destroy the tyres, which are more expensive than standard. They are a beautiful car to look at. Give me one with a proper engine in it.

On my neighbors Ford it knocked the cam out of the head when the belt failed. Ford did not even open it and quoted for a new engine. Service schedule says 5 years 150000km. Car was at 140000km 5 years 30 days. 30 days out of warranty and past the due date.
