I remember when the Penn Central used run freights on this line. I used to watch them from my grandmother's apartment. Back then, this was double-track with lots of spurs heading into various companies including Polaroid. Today, this is only a connector between the north and south sides. This would make a nice commuter route offering service to the companies and to MIT located along the route.
