Tyler, this is one of the greatest videos I've seen in a while. Thanks for making the time to address such an important topic. The greatest way to build a relationship? You hit the mark dead on - make the time and do it. It's not about what's in it for you today or even tomorrow, but truly building a network of relationships for personal and professional growth because you never know who you might help along their journey and what you might take away from a conversation. I'll start this ball rolling - Tyler, next time I'm in your area, let's get together for a beer (or coffee or lunch) and just chat. I'd love to hear more about you and your journey in craft beer. Cheers! Cathleen Evans, Oak Printing

Thanks for showcasing an excellent learning opportunity for the rest of us craft brewers and how we need to tackle all social media; good or bad. Keep up the great work.

I'm willing to bet that ABI told WW everything they're supposed to say and do following the announcement. That's part of the whole "strategic partnership" thing. They've already gone through this 9 times and they have billions upon billions to hire the perfect internet PR people to coach/takeover all of the newly acquired subsidiary's social media accounts. A press release is a far cry from a press conference where the face of a brewery has to face the music from real questions in a real time environment. Any paralegal or marketing sophomore can draft a grammaticality correct and vaguely appropriate statement about a business decision. Doesn't make the brewery a genius to withstand the urge to violently defend themselves and further alienate potential customers on Facebook.

The point is this is how all businesses should handle Facebook and social media interaction. Too many will make a post and just leave it for people to comment. Social media isn't just the new e-newsletter, but it's a place where consumers of all levels can actually interact with brands. While anyone could be taught to do this - even an intern - in most cases it's not handled as so. Wicked Weed didn't do a press conference - I don't know why they would as a private business - but they handled comments and didn't just lob up a post and leave it. Whether it was an intern or a marketing person at AB all small businesses and breweries should handle social like this on a daily basis.

Right. My AB distributor won't bring in anything that does not have Bud on the label...especially if they are craft beers that AB/InBev had any ownership of. Sad.

Hate to hear that Dr. Ink.

Excellent video blog. Keep it coming. This is exactly what we need to see and learn for our soon to open brewery.
