@@ThePeelRegionTransitChannel yeah before 2012? I think it ended at Torbram and Australia Dr, before it was restructured to service sunny meadow to countryside. It’s supposed to be extended to Mayfield (with the 14) to act as a big loop between Bramalea Rd and Torbram Rd

@@ThePeelRegionTransitChannel it’s just a weird route altogether. It barely follows a road, (Grenoble lasts 500m) and for the rest of the route it just winds around Central Brampton lol. It’s a great route cuz it takes significant pressure off the 14 and 15 and more or less the 1 and 5. The external also sounds weird “Route *slight pause* 12 Grenoble n-northbound to countrySIDE DRIVE!”

@@ThePeelRegionTransitChannel thats true, but realistically speaking, it would add like 30 mins to the route, the 561 takes 24 mins in rush between the two terminals + adding some layover time at Downtown Terminal. Originally, the plan was similar to Steeles West; extend either certain trips west or have a separate 501 branch going to MPGO. In the end it was decided the 501/501A would operate as is, and the 561 would be added. Could u imagine the 501 being 120 mins long tho? Lol

But at the same time there’s that overly robotic pronunciation of certain things “GO pAAAaaArk and Riide?” “Route 4!AyyyYyY.” There’s also many pronunciation and spelling issues with it, Torbram, Bramalea, Chinguacousy, Hurontario. Although this voice is literally been associated with brampton transit, it also begs the question from a standpoint of accessibility

It really does! It sounds like they separated the word mayfield into “May Field” for this one, part of the reason is because this route has been going to mayfield since around 2016/2017, compared to the 27 in 2019, and 18 and 25 in 2023

@@ThePeelRegionTransitChannel the 501 and 511’s C branches were added in a time that Brampton was catering exclusively to York U and Humber College, and to service to key part of the route (eg. queen st east of Bramalea Term, and Steeles Ave east of Gateway/Sheridan) but post covid ridership patterns have changed drastically, so their need has disappeared

I mean Humber is still a huge priority but they’ve also made connections at Malton/Westwood, Pearson, other parts of Mississauga, VMC and inner city travel more of a priority (eg. 504, 561)

Miway seems to have really added a lot of bus routes and made tons of cuts due to reliability issues, their focus seems to be improving connections with TTC and Brampton which is good, but frequency in all periods should be a top issue as well, cus what is the 101, 103, 107, and 109 doing running like that, precovid levels of service should be restored

Same question. Why isn't there a Countryside bus and Mayfield Bus. The 26 Only covers Chinguacousy Rd to Mayfield and barely serves mayfield. Also whats funny is that the school routes 201 - 204 cover mayfield.
