This documentary fails to say that Verbiest was an RCC Jesuit priest. There were actually several priests who came to Beijing during the Ming and early Qing dynasty. among the more notable was Fr. Matteo ricci who came to china during the Ming dynasty.

The whole prison aspect is somewhat overstated. Seasoned rulers like Kangxi and Qianlong went wherever they pleased. These emperors would leave the Forbidden City for months at a time. Decamping to the less formal Summer Palace or Mountain Resort (hunting lodge) in Chengde. They also went on pilgrimages and inspection tours to other parts of the empire.

in the propaganda classes that were called history, they called the British drug trade the "spice trade". since when is opium a spice? the British empire was the worst drug cartel the world has ever known. same tactics used by the mafia and modern cartels, with the blessing of the British monarchy.

Can you handle the truth?? .....Read!!! “The Cambridge History of China Volume 7: The Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644, Part 1,” (p. 240-241): "The chief architect was an Annamese eunuch named An Nguyen, Juan An (d. 1453), who also played a major role in the rebuilding of Peking during the Cheng-t’ung reign.” Annamese was what the Chinese used to call Vietnamese.

is castrated eunuch redundancy? if the person is an eunuch, he has to be castrated...
@eave014 жыл бұрын
Maybe. A eunuch may have either the testes only removed or the testes and penis. These may have been removed in childhood, in which many physiological changes would be affected. Or they may have been castrated as a punishment.

Great Documentary- I don't suppose you know what the name of the music at the beginning is called, I hear it a lot in documentaries but can never find the name.

And it's meaningless if you find it,cause it's nonsense in any kinds of Chinese classical music type,not famouse and not authentic but useless.

I found the soundtrack on Spotify. Search for "The Great Within". There are 17 tracks. The first is entitled Sons of Heaven. Or search KZbin with The Great Within Pingxin Xu, Harry Gregson Williams. Hope this helps.
