Vermettya Royster killing it during final chorus. She is the most phenomenal vocalist I’ve ever heard, a female Ruffin/Womack and DeeDee Warwick all in one.

See those daisies on the wall? Whoever had my apartment before me put some up on the tiles around the tub. And I liked them, so I left them there.

Lesley Gore was such a huge, under-appreciated talent. Her gleaming blue eyes and angelic voice. Something’s off with the sound though, her voice sounds muffled and nothing like her own voice. Maybe it’s the use of background singers that muddy the voice. Anyone else notice?

It may be the quality of the video's audio that I converted from a DVD (which was converted from original television tape).

Yes she is singing along with the track of her single and yes It's a little muddy sounding but it was a nice record and it make the charts but only got to around No. 56 or somewhere in that area - it should have done better on the Pop Charts -

Who the hell was still using an accordian after the Beatles arrived ? The Band did at the end of the 60s and maybe Nils Lofgren, but it was so out of date by then.

I live in Louisville Kentucky, l cross the river , in I believe 1973, to watch Gary Lewis. Add a place called the garage. In Indiana, Small place only about a hundred people. He was great, and funny too. He got hot, and he said don't this damn place have an air conditioner. Everyone of us died laughing. We were sweating our asses off. And we weren't even performing. Great times though.

Rare and precious footage from a time when AIDS was still a rare disease, (one AIDS Commitee of Toronto sign @ 09:33 ) soon to change the lives many of the people in this video. The chant would go from 'Gay Rights Now!' to AIDS Action Now!' within a couple of years. I love how we were allowed half of Yonge, and happy to get that! To think most of the celebrations took place behind the 519 around the swings and kiddie pool, seems so quaint. I was there somewhere! Thanks for posting!

Thank you for viewing and taking the time to reply. If my memory serves correctly we weren't really allowed that half of Yonge St. in the early years. The crowds grew from the sidewalk marches and the powers that be eventually had no choice but to grant a permit. I was there too but I was behind the camera and had been at every gay pride event since 1972. I know, there were not annual events in those early but years, but when the call to action went out, so did I.

Not sure but I can only let you know that this is converted from an old VHS tape that was originally recorded in 1979 (I believe) and then the owner of the tape made multiple copies of it to sell in the early days of the internet. That is probably why the sound quality is not that consistent.
