Great story for a great breed of dog. My Jr. College mascot was the Bulldog and we own a Bulldog at this time, her name is "Mangia", which means eat in Italian. Anyone considering a Bulldog as a family member, remember to guard them from heat and most can't swim, so don life jackets on them when near water. The breed is in real danger of extinction due to the fact 85% of them are related through years of selected breeding. This issue has to be addressed seriously, even if it means a change in physical characteristics, which would likely benefit the breed ultimately.
