I love riding in winter here in Queensland, but Tassie? Bugger that! I'm way too soft! I was cold enough there in summer! HaHa! That looked like a fun fast paced ride to breakfast! What a great road! It all looked awesome after breakfast as well! I was trying to follow on Google Maps where you went, I could see roughly the route you took maybe. There's certainly no shortage of great dirt roads to explore in Tassie. This makes me want to trailer my DRZ down to Melbourne and bring it over on the ferry to explore the back roads more than I was comfortable doing on my V-Strom last time. Looked like a magic day mate! 👍

I did the Explore Highway 3 weeks ago on the bike. They had just graded the road, lots of loose gravel and large rocks on the road. Rain was moving through the area so the roads were very slippery. Made for a long, wet and challenging ride. Would I do it again, hell yes!

Heading down to Tassie next Summer and looking for informative videos. Reducing radius curves have been almost eliminated in Vic, but with the hilly geography in Tassie I'd expect there to still be quite a few.

Certainly has been a while. Perfect day out weather wise, you're right about less people out and about. I can't handle dust or idiots in 4WDs that won't slow down on gravel roads. Bush pig for winter riding, mainly around the North (Ben Lomond, Mathinna areas). Summer riding / touring on the black stuff is left for the Africa Twin.
