I love this guitar! My favorite is my Jaguar that has multiple switches and knobs. Im surprised they never went mainstream. But the fender jaguar was a flop when it first came out too. Have you enjoyed the switches? I play my jaguar beefy or jazzy the with my strangle switch get it to sound a bit like a spanish acoustic.

I have an Aelita from the same factory. Same red crackle pickguard but only three pickups and six push pull buttons of random sound interference. Also 4 knobs - No Idea what they do. Mine has a lower action than yours but the neck is horribly offset so the high e string keeps falling off the neck. It also has weird trem/ bridge setup with some sort of switchable dampener on it and a rudimentary bigsby style trem. It's a weird guitar but like yours it just looks so cool I had to have it... 🙂 Luv and Peace.

I have one too! Came from the Terek factory - 5500 made. The dampener I can’t figure out either I was thinking something surf guitar related. When I checked the schematic there’s a knob for main volume and the other 3 control tone for each respecitve pickup if I remember right.

@RomanDark
@RomanDark Жыл бұрын
I don't remember I think I bought it somewhere in Poland. Yes the aluminum foil wasn't a good choice. It even put the signal wire to ground once because it deforms and goes everywhere. I think it would be better to use a copper tape.
@Haroun-El-Poussah
@Haroun-El-Poussah Жыл бұрын
@@RomanDark : copper tape is the way to go if you have instruments that may get high resale value, so "Thou Shalt NOT do definitive mods" on some vintage Gibson, Fender and anything your hipster dentist may buy from you when you need a new carNear all my guitars come from the best lutheries in Europe, mainly from Vigier (when they still were only two at the job) and from master luthier Christophe Leduc... As soon as the graphite paint became available, they adopted it, as well as all doing true high-end: you'll see that copper tape is near as a pain in the ass as aluminium and is not cheap. Actually, I used aluminium adding double-side adhesive tape on my ex US-Strat and as it was yet another overexpensive Fender turd, I was always doing electronics mods (had bought several blank pickguards) over the 9 years I owned it, moreover, the swimming-pool routing was very mod-friendly: I could have installed 7 single coils or 3 HBs+1 SC... I was using a SS-S-SS config with two SC-sized DiMarzio humbuckers teamed with Fender SCs. I first did it with likely all PU combinations feasible, but many had no interest and as I found my first touring band, it soon happened that it was a pain in the ass to toggle several switches when changing the sounds. I replaced one of the pots with a duplo, and the other with a rotactor, so I could select the config between songs and just use the 5 posn. Today, I'm mounting the Free-Way selectors on many of my guitars: you get 10 posn with a 2x5 ways blade selector, and 6 from a 2x6 and they perfectly replace the Fender/Gibson styled ones IIRC, I had to replace the aluminium after about 18 months, and the copper-tape lasted the double... My little tries ended with never being satisfied, moreover, I was into intensive practise and so 7 years of tendinitis on 9 years of ownership... Then a budy who was doing business in the 2nd hand market told me "Ya know what? I'm gonna sell you a guitar", and brought a freaking Excalibur Supra SSS... It was funny since the neck+bridge PUs were FS-1 I had already tried on the Strat, but here, they sounded absolutely awesome... Another point was that after 3 weeks, the tendinitis was gone, the Strat was returned to its out-of-shop status: original tuners, nut, saddles and PUs+pickguard were reinstalled, the copper-tape ousted, and the Strat re-sold for more than I bought it as new, thanks to two autographs on the headstock. The Excalibur was my first real super-guitar... Thus, there was a single cool thing on the Strat, the 2 and 4 posn, 2 for arpeggios and 4 for funk. The Exca being routed HSH under the pickguard, no way I'll drill holes for a SS-S-SS and since I never use the middle PU alone, had a replica of the Abigail Ybarra '69 set merged with a FS-1 and the same DM DP185 as on the Exca, Auricap caps... There were several PGs due to switching mods, the most recent one has the Free-Way... And the graphite paint inside is still unaltered... Got this 1993 guitar in '97... What am I doing on this topic? Well, I have a bunch of true-high end guitars, but I like to collect weird-looking ones, moreover, I self-limit to two solid-bodies per main wood... And there are Soviet guitars that look really weird and are made of beech... I had already customized my 1st cheap guitar, the infamous Musima Deluxe 25, as a no-name fretless bass, likely made by Yoojin. The Musima ended f-cked up, but with the experience, I did well with the bass, and, even if definitive mods are to be done, I surely can get something interesting in the end that will be with a different sound while being useable, even if I need to reshape the neck and change everything onboard, I mean this stuff sells for €150-300 and one of my luthies makes wonderful while very affordable custom PUs. These Soviet guitars are perfect to do some punk-luthier stuff even making 'em useable while sounding different since they were using odd materials, I don't expect stellar results, I mean, beech is a no go, same for plywood, if you want an electric Stradivarius, but using such stuff on an album is interesting to be used as a contrast to an hi-end instrument or if you want smth odd here and there, and if I get e.g. a Tonika, it can be fun for a video-clip, just like the Roland G-707 used for Billy Idol or Sigue Sigue Sputnik clips (thus, the G-707 is truly a great guitar). I like a lot the design of the Bulgarian Orfeus Skurill, especially the orange one on Lord Bizarre's website, it's very likely I'll reuse this design for a true high end guitar made of padauk which is naturally orange (as long as you keep it away from UVs or it turns dark brown)

it was a long time ago and I don't have the guitar anymore. But as I remember the two pickups at the bridge have separate coils for the top 3 strings and bottom 3 strings. Or kind of make sense of what is going on.Found wiring schematics for non stereo guitars such as the Elgava Unika-2 and the Formanta which I also own. They are wired with 3 pins. Ground, signal, and phantom power. Often phantom is wired to ground. Phantom for power distortion circuit on Formanta for instance. Thanks again!! Take care!!
