Never oil pull if you have dental amalgam fillings. Oil pulling will pull mercury out of the fillings which will then be absorbed into your tissues, inadvertently poisoning your body with mercury at a faster rate. I would recommend that you wait until you have had your amalgam fillings removed by a SMART certified dentist before you try oil pulling."

A few days ago i saw your video where you talking about your experience of using xylitol for the first time for 30 days and comparing it with oil pulling. And you said you didn't like it and won't use it again. What happen? Do you like it now?

I have been oil pulling for a week and I already see and feel a difference in my overall oral health. My teeth are looking whiter and I don’t even feel the need to use mouthwash. My mouth feels light and fresh with just oil pulling and brushing.

3 levels of effective oil pulling 1. Coconut Oil 2. Castor Oil 3. Oregano Oil in coconut oil Add baking soda or hydrogen peroxide to the mix if you want. Personally, i've never tried hydrogen ygen peroxide, but i suspect it can at least disinfect I did oil pulling when i discovered a bump resembling a tooth abcess on my gum. Petrified, i started brushing my teeth with baking soda, then coconut oil pulled like crazy. It seems to have helped, but i was impatient, so i tried Castor Oil. It seems to work better but tasted bad, and i switched back to coconut oil. 2 weeks later, i feel healing wasn't fast enough, so i got Oregano Oil It worked so fast that by 2nd day, my 5-week long bump in my gum went down 50% 2 days later, it's all gone. Try all 3. You won't regret it. I planned to coconut oil pulling for good

I was just gifted a tube and therefore researching - one thought that comes to mind - every other toothpaste you brush, spit, rinse - this you leave on. Doesn't that mean over time you ate that tube of toothpaste? If it has such a profound effect on your teeth, whats it doing further down?

I am skeptical of some of the things Dr. Ellie recommends. The ingredients of the mouthwashes she recommends are questionable, and I also find it hard to believe her recommendation not to floss. However, this video also uses unfair judgement. The only product she sells herself are the zellies mints, which are priced similarily to other competitors. The other products she recommends are not owned by her and she would not get a kickback if you source them on your own. You also do not need to purchase her kits, her books or any courses. I got the system for free when I subscribed to her website. She does recommend root canals over implants which costs less. She would have no incentive to recommend a lower costing solution as a dentist.

For everyone asking whether coconut oil pulling and xylitol pulling can be used together: Source: ChatGPT Using coconut oil pulling with xylitol might provide a unique combination for oral health, but it’s generally recommended to use them separately for maximum benefit. Here’s why: Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial, especially due to its lauric acid content, which has shown effectiveness against harmful oral bacteria, such as Streptococcus mutans. Oil pulling also reduces plaque and can improve overall oral hygiene by "pulling" out bacteria from hard-to-reach areas. Xylitol: Xylitol is a sugar alcohol that inhibits the growth of S. mutans by disrupting their energy production. It essentially "starves" the bacteria by reducing their ability to stick to teeth and form plaque. Combination and Timing Combining xylitol with coconut oil directly might dilute the oil’s effectiveness as the xylitol granules dissolve. Instead, here’s a recommended sequence: Step 1: Use xylitol in a chewable form, rinse, or lozenge to inhibit bacterial growth. Step 2: Oil pulling with coconut oil afterward for about 10-20 minutes can help remove loosened bacteria and deliver additional antibacterial effects. Using these methods separately allows each to work to its fullest potential while promoting an optimal environment for beneficial oral bacteria.

I mean... my grandmother used to lick some salt right after getting up and after every meal and she kept most of her teeth to the end. She just brushed her teeth once a day before going to bed and died aged 88. She was always telling us to do the same and we just thought it was sacrilegious. Like, shouldn't we restrict our salt intake in the first place? But then in hindsight maybe we're doing too much and causing more harm than good? I don't know whether her case was just anecdotal...

Where can i find reviews from people having done the system for a year and have periodontitis? Because the latest research of the microbiome!! Listerine is a killer invented 100 years ago and i do Dr Elle her system but the question is what it will do on the long run. It's common sense and factually true that bad bacteria are able to come back with a vengeance if the environment is too sterile for too long. All the devotional comments of people doing the system for a few weeks is jest annoying.

It DOES NOT cost $500. to learn and use many of the ideas Dr Z provides. I am doing much of it and my teeth have not looked as good or felt as good in years. Every brushing with a Xylitol based toothpaste makes my teeth feel like they were just polished by a dentist.

Paul thank you for your comments. For me to buy Dr. Ellie's whole system it would cost me a lot for shipping, so even though I bought some of the items online locally, I have been feeling guilty about not purchasing the whole system. I am an older woman with very bad teeth. I did buy products and even mouthwash that had xylitol in them after watching her videos. I've been using the Crest toothpaste, the Listerine mouthwash, and gum and candies whose first ingredient is xylitol. After two weeks I was already able to bite down on my left side that was giving me extreme pain. I have also been made aware of my teeth and no longer just go through the motions. I'm paying attention, and my teeth do look brighter. I see that she did answer you, and I will probably break down and buy her system. If I never have anothet root canal or tooth implant, I will consider it money well spent. I think then I would label her a "Saint Doctor"!

The only thing I see different is the extra mouthwash closys and the zelly's but there's a lot of studies on Xylitol. Other than that everybody still buys toothpaste and still buys mouthwash and needs to change their toothbrushes and sometimes they're told to do the act at night so I don't see a difference in the regular routine everyone's taught except for those two extra expenses

I'm a cheapskate, so what I do is I get those flosspicks, where it has two prongs that hold a small section of floss. Normal floss gets wet and my fingers slip and it's a hassle trying to cram my fist into my mouth, but the flosspicks work. Why it makes me a cheapskate is that if you can re-use your toothbrush instead of trashing to toothbrush every night, I do the same with the floss picks, as I am just trying to dislodge the plaque and bacteria, so I re-use my flosspicks until they break, which will save you a BUNCH of money. A flosspick actually lasts me a month now, and I got a pack of either 100 or 200. Additionally, you can get floss that has a flat plane instead of a circular string, and the flat plane covers more surface area. Just learn to press your thumb onto the flosspick with enough force in a way to get past the initial tight gap, but avoid the gums. There was only one trouble spot for me, between my two top front teeth, that cut up my floss a bit. Until one day I used my floss a RIPPED A CHUNK OF MY TOOTH OUT! The benefit is that there's a very nice roomy gap there so I can EASILY fit my floss in there now. (Turns out it was just an old filling that got loose, and I am due to replace it soon). Another way to wedge a flosspick in, is to push it in at an angle, think using a handsaw on wood, you want to cut at an angle to get through, instead of perfectly flat, and of course use a sawing motion.
