No matter how hard i press on the locking tabs, i cant remove the keyboard. it seems like my keyboard is stuck to the laptop some how. Even though i got the same model of laptop (with a I3 as well)

To clean just the fan is really pain in the ass with laptops like this ! Today with modern laptops is now is pain in the ass to change HDD or SSD or RAM !

It is on the back of the motherboard you have to take the whole thing out and there is two pinch tabs that u press to pop the card out

Is there a difference in the size and screw hole position etc. between a g50 and a z50? I have a g50-70 with a unsavable motherboard and I'm thinking of buying a used z50-70 for spare parts. Judging from the video the size and everythibg should fit, shouldn't it?

What the hell kind of design is that!! Why are the SODIMM and NVMe slots on the back of the motherboard? Now you have to disassemble the whole thing to just upgrade the ram or give it an NVMe SSD. I swear they just want to kill the upgradeability of this thing.

Is the connector you remove at 4:03 for the microphone? I'm having to replace the motherboard on my NP350V5C A06 and when i came to disconnect this part it was just a cable shoved into the port on the motherboard (there was no plastic cover connected into the port, just the cable itself having been pushed in). It looks like the wire for it travels up into the screen itself but except for the words 'JMIC' written underneath the port (on the motherboard) i can't find anything definitive to tell me. What's strange is, if this is the microphone, it worked fine, yet looking at it, i can't believe it would work based on the fact it's just loosely forced in.

I did it yesterday - Hell job! Sadist Engineers design this so you damage the machine when trying that must be GULAGs assembling those machines... with too many tricks to make it almost impossible - ... dis gusting idle temperature now down by 10 deg Celsius irreversible heart damage for me...

Easy to take it apart, far more difficult to put it back and not damage things like connectors. Better avoid HP laptops.

Thanks! I have a few HP 15’s and was having difficulty since I’m use to newer models where the back plate comes off not the top. I instantly stopped when I open it and the keyboard shook lose 😅 that’s when I figured it was different and this video was a life saver!
