Hi, I noticed the quarter panels are different colors. What brands are you using?
@DavesMustangGarage22 сағат бұрын
@@vegita43 this was a fastback conversion kit from CJ Pony Parts. One of the quarters is welded thru primer, the other is not. Not sure why that is.

Make sure to fit the front and rear glass before burning! Consider flush mounting the glass/modern urethane glue in. It really cleans the appearance by deleting the rubber gasket/stainless trim.

A couple of helpful tips, take a flap disc over the area you are looking from r the spot welds on and it will make them show up as really prominent dimples, if you use your air hammer and move it between a 22.5 degree and 45 degree angle you can often split the spot welds with just the air hammer then grind the little bit of left over spot weld that remains. It’s super quick. It will surprise you how good you can get at it. Also where you plasma cut they make an air chisel bit that has a flat “blade” with a 1/4”wide raised tooth that will tear through the metal that you are going to trash anyway. You can turn hours into an hour many times with those techniques one you get the hang of it. If you want to see a KZbinr that is the air chisel king check out “Mr Gone in Sixty” he does 2 day coupe to fastback conversions in an unconventional manner. I learned the air chisel trick when I was 14 from my day replacing floor pans in a 1967 I knocked the floor pan to inner rocker spot welds off on the passenger side in less time than it took me to drill three out of the drivers side. You did awesome getting your rest frame rails lined up correctly you got this and it will get easier as you find the “cheat codes”. I will be following you from now on it’s nice to see someone not afraid to learn from the school of hard knocks.

Good luck with your project!! As far as using the "Lisky" drawings for a datum line, be careful. I am working on a 65 Coupe and the Lisky drawing has several errors and/or inconsistencies .
