This is nowhere near a beginner pattern! As a beginner who is comfortable on my sewing machine, it’s taken me 4 days… just to get to the end and not even understand how to fold it into itself and sew it. I’ve already cried and gave up lol

What questions do you have? Folding it into itself is definitely confusing. If you’re using a different lining fabric, the lining should always be touching when rolling it. Definitely take it slow. As you roll it into itself, the parts that you’re pinning together should be the two sides of the lining fabric touching itself. I started from the top of the straps and worked my way down until I pinned the bottom seam of the straps. That’s where you should stop pinning, sew, and then repeat on the other side. For finishing the straps(I really struggled with this part). Pull the right strap through the whole on the left strap. Then pull the top of the left strap through the same whole in the left strap. The seams of the top of the straps should overlap in an uninterrupted circle. Then just sew and pull back through the hole. You can do it! I hope this was helpful.

I will keep my critique of the missing showing properly how to sew the ends when attaching skirt to top-part. And not showing how it should end up looking under the arms. And for not showing a sewing of buttonholes before making the neck. But still; i actually managed to finish the dress! Not sure if i made it correctly. But it`s a quite cute, wearable dress. Absolute beginners might struggle, but three`s a charm and i got there in the end!

I really miss a close-up on how to start and end the seams when attaching the skirt parts to the top part. And the sleeves to the top part. These are key to successfully finish the dress. I got it wrong and ended up with a pretty dress with holes under the arms... I have more fabric and can try again, but after watching the video and pictures in the pattern i`m still not sure how to sew the parts that will be under the arms. This is one of the things that are so obvious to the experienced sewer and such a hurdle for beginners. Five weeks til my little nieces birthday; i don`t feel very optimistic... 🥺

Hi, is the “base” and “pocket” the same? I printed on A4 but the pocket elements don’t match up properly so wondering can I just cut 4 x “base”?

Hello. Thank you for your purchase. 'Base' and 'Pocket' are the same. They are symmetrical. You need 4 of each. If you want to make the lining and outer fabric different, 'Base' needs 2 linings and 2 outer fabrics. 'Pocket' also needs 2 linings and 2 outer fabrics. Thank you.
