Hey again. How so that the pinball controller board has a connection to the headset ? Is everything done in the programming the buttons section?
@Coldsnap500
@Coldsnap500 5 ай бұрын
The controller board basically pretends to be a USB keyboard, the software lets you assign a keypress to each arcade button. (My setup is for PCVR, I'm assuming this won't work for standalone headsets.)

Super cool. Only thing I’d do differently is make it so the lid opens to the side and lays flat next to the bottom. But I’m definitely at doing something like this. And I’m surprised there isn’t more info on things like this.

Which Tactile Feedback Kit do you recommend to give the table some vibrations ?
@Coldsnap500
@Coldsnap500 Жыл бұрын
I only have a simple setup, a single Sinus Live bass shaker that runs on the sound output, this only provides very basic tactile features. The main reason I've not spent more time on this is because my goto Pinball game (FX2 VR) can't output sound effects to a separate sound channel.
@tomxle6278
@tomxle6278 Жыл бұрын
@@Coldsnap500 this means for me would be unnecessary to integrate this live bass shaker when i'll play the same game ?
@Coldsnap500
@Coldsnap500 Жыл бұрын
I would say it may not really be worth it just for FX2 VR since the bass shaker will mostly react to the music (the soundtrack has much more low end than the sound effects), but since I already had a working bass shaker setup for my flight/driving sim rig it was quite cheap to just add another shaker to the pinball controller. But of course it's up to you, even without true tactile feedback it does add some extra immersion :)

This looks great. Can you maybe send me a sketch with the measurements that you use for this cab?
@Coldsnap500
@Coldsnap500 Жыл бұрын
Sorry for late reply! I don't have a sketch, but the most important factors are the table width, slope and flipper button positioning. I used a 63 x 20 cm top piece, slope angle should be about 6.5 degrees to be consistent with a real pinball table, but you can use any angle you find comfortable. Flipper buttons should be about 9 cm from the table edge, 5.5 cm from the top. The rest is a matter of personal preference, it depends on table height, how many buttons you want to fit in etc. :)

Awesome! I'm thinking to do something like that with a huge case I already have. Just wondering, how are you going to prevent the synths/controllers to fall? I think I saw something like rubber bands for the "upper" devices fixed to the wood, but could not catch something like that for the Beatstep pro
@Coldsnap500
@Coldsnap500 2 жыл бұрын
Most synths have velcro underneath to keep them from sliding around, and everything in the lid is held in place by elastic bands. In addition, when I close the box I put in a thick foam sheet that prevents things from falling (this is important). Since this video was made I've rebuilt some things, and now most machines have plastic lids to protect knobs and cables.

Great project! Im just building one myself but im using an old suitcase because i need it for concerts aswell. Im wondering how do you hold the mixer and the stuff on top in place?
@Coldsnap500
@Coldsnap500 2 жыл бұрын
Velcro and elastic bands, I start adding these at 1:20. When the case is open, the mixer and fx pedals rest on top of a thin wood strip. The elastic bands used in the video turned out too weak to hold the mixer securely when closed, so I've had to replace them with stronger ones.

The MonoStation is one of the best synth AND sequencers to come out in a decade. Such a shame it was "too different" to take off and was killed. I wish they would have expanded to a Poly Station, etc... Alas...

Wow i dont thing ive heard the circuit monostation sound so good, only took 1500$+ worth of reverb and delay, not hating i had one and this is what i wanted it sound like. Traded it in for the model:cycles. If only novation would have just thrown in an effects section. It is a beast, one ive seen very few people able to tame.
