If you can save an old rusty springer from going on the scrap heap and bring it back to serviceable or better condition it's very satisfying indeed. I did this with a rusty little Cometa 5 some years back which now looks good and shoots remarkably well. Plain beech wood stock, hammer forged barrel, solid lock up, still has all the original screws and open sights and produces 7.5ftlb with RWS Hobby pellets. I plink and shoot groups with it often.

.....not quite 'exactly as it should be'. They are wonderful, I have one in .177 pellet. But in order to compensate for the lack of a .455 cartridge and the power of a live fire revolver at distance, the sight built into the locking stirrup on the top break, is much taller than the original. But its a very small detail to worry about and obviously helps with accuracy. I would love to see if the .22 has enough 'poke' to push the heavier pellets out to a decent enough distance accurately..... They certainly look and feel the part though and just remind you how large a 'large frame' revolver really was! Its quite a beast and the .455 would certainly have delivered quite a smack at reasonable range. 😮

can these be altered just like a sharp innova to give25ft pounds and incredible accuracy ? if so just make sure to make a trigger slide from a stronger bit of metal to stop the pin breaking through it...... 20 pumps on a innova gave incredible power. 8 pumps 12fts pounds. 99% of sharp innovas had terrible stocks.
@RealAirgunAdventures22 күн бұрын
The only thing that makes that unlikely is the law in the UK. Anything over 12fpe is considered a firearm. That said, with a bit of engineering and the right materials, anything is possible. As long as you add it to your firearms certificate and store is properly. I think that would also be pretty tough to pump. 👍

Hi Steve and Merry Christmas. My model 52 also had an appetite for scopes. Just over two years ago I mounted a new Hawke scope on top of the Diana Zero recoil mount. It has been working well.
