That WAS a Dynamite Tenor solo! Great work -- I'm playing this chart in a big band and just got some serious inspiration.

I imagine you can sing the melody to an arranger, then have them notate the melody with harmony that you both agree on. Then you would have an arranger write an arrangement for the instrumentation you require. Once the tune is written, you could price out having an ensemble perform/record it for you. It can also be played through Finale ( or any notation program) in Midi format and you can add the appropriate instrument sounds to each voicing.

Do you ever price out for recording demos for newly written "big band" songs? I'm working up the song (got the music in mind, working on completing lyrics) but don't write notation. Not sure how best to translate into a means of all instrumentalists being able to follow other than "sing" the music and have someone else compose into notation.

The Young Lady who performed the alto sax solo in this video is Judith "Judy" Roman. She's been a wonderful asset to the band for years with her sultry sax sounds!

FYI, that's John Brierly on lead trumpet on these clips putting that beautiful sizzling edge on the band. Both he and Kenny were the two best trumpet players the band has had in 12 years!

Hi, glad you enjoyed the track, Ken has been on a hiatus from the band due to a neck injury.
