As usual I'm way late to the party, but I find this video valuable none the less. Storage is always of great value. But the biggest takeaway for me, I'm really grateful for, it never occurred to me I'm damaging my traction tires by parking modern locos on sidings for extended periods of time. Very grateful for the tip.

The engine looks like the Harry Potter engine repainted. A nice looking engine. I like the fact they don’t put the expensive electronics into it. That is the reason the hobby is losing people with the ridiculous costs. Thanks for a nice video. Now I need to find one for my wife’s Halloween layout!

I tried my hardest to find my baby this to be part of a costume with me. I looked everywhere for something close without the doors or anything. I didn’t have enough time to build one from scratch, and I’m a disabled Vet. so I couldn’t afford to get all the tools/materials needed. I even tried asking a couple Disney producers on Facebook in hopes I could them to just help direct me how to get a copy of the props plans or if they had one no longer being used to film with that I could buy, or rent. I’m a 43 year old first time father…. And that took 20 years for it to finally happen. Now I’m broke and broken and I know I’m only going to get to experience this adult parent bonding just with the only child, so I wanted to really make the most of these experiences. I couldn’t find a grogu costume or I would have just strapped him to my back during that first Halloween. Now I can see a cool little racer with the pram piece his cockpit. I just need to figure out the dimensions of the real one. I guess I could make it out of wood and have a metal worker shape it into panels…. Anyone know if prop replica builders have come up with anything remotely close, I know it’s not a droid but.. I pleaded with my wife to push to try and have the baby on May The 4th.. He refused to come out before the 17th. If he managed the 4th I so wanted to take him to Galaxy’s Edge on May The 4th to celebrate, or maybe even the Ranch.. I just thought that would be great fun for us and good memories thanks to the pictures and stories, etc…. We moved and never made it down south to go to the parks in Cali.

The app is great for kids since it uses a smartphone. It's a great app for home use. However it couldn't replace the Legacy 990 remote. One downside to the app is that it can't run multiple locomotives in a lash up. It can only connect to one locomotive. Also have to be careful running Lionel Legacy locomotives with Bluetooth in public at trainshows. The Bluetooth switch should be turned off. It's possible to hijack a Lionel Bluetooth locomotive with the app if someone is using a Legacy 990 controller. The app over rides the controller. I proved this when I hijacked a North Penn O gauge members locomotive using the app. He was cool about it and I interviewed him afterwards. Last I was disappointed when Lionel quit supporting the app for Android devices that is for the WiFi camera cars. The app is now Apple only. I hope this doesn't happen to Bluetooth in the future.

This is good for first-time users of all ages. The Cab-3 app should be able to do almost everything the 990 does.

I attended the show Saturday and ran my Conrail locomotives on the Raritan Valley Hi-Railers club layout at 3pm til closing. It's great to see train shows from a family perspective. The Thanksgiving show is the best one to attend. On another note I have done behind the scenes videos with the Raritan Valley Hi-Railers on how they build their modules. Matt names all of his sources for supplies. It's a great club with great members.

Using O-27 track is a good way to maximize a given space. There is a compromise in that some of the longer locomotives and cars won't swing round the tight curves and switches, but it more than makes up for it by allowing a more complex track plan for a given space. This can make a small layout seem a lot larger than it really is, and allows more places for things like operating accessories as well. Might not be running a Big Boy anytime soon, but semi-scale Northerns and Berkshires work just fine, plus classics like the S2 Turbine.

The Hallows Eve train is fantastic, and the sound effects are terrific. I also appreciate seeing your Halloween-themed layout, with an excellent variety of structures. And are they from Dept. 56? The upper and lower-level plan provides a good combination. What are the LxW dimensions for the upper board and the lower board? What is the purpose of the bar clamp under the upper table? Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you feel the same way. I've been wanting it for 2 years. The upper level is 3 feet x 6 feet. The lower level is 4 feet by 9 feet. The top level is two halves. The clamp keeps the two halves together. The lower level is four pieces bolted together.
