Alien Garden, first game that is not a game but a piece of 'art' ? art being the loosest most subjective term in this scenario. certainly hard to call it a game

You covered Aldebaran! I arrived to late yesterday and only watched Alien Garden. Aldebaran 1/Layhope is a really odd case because of that status of "it was a type-in game, but it got so popular we decided to commercially release it anyway". Like, *technically* is a type-in game, BUT. And I'm going to be honest, I really want to *get* Alien Garden, like, learn its mechanics. It looks so cool and unique that I want to believe there's a thrilling gameplay behind the layers of opaqueness. Probably isn't, but I want to believe.
@chronologicallygaming22 сағат бұрын
I agree! It does look unique and kind of fun to learn! Let me know if there is "something" I didn't see...

Hiya...yes i had a zx80. It was kind of like the zx81 but was white with a blue membraine keyboard instead of black with grey kbd....it had a bad screen refresh where if you press a key the screen would refresh causing the screen to flash on and off for a brief second. I bought it as a kit to build and was my first home computer. I had it for 6 months then I got a zx81 and a few months after, I got my colour vic 20 which started my commodore history. At school I used commodore pet and apple II COMPUTERS which is my first use of computers in 1979. Here I am in my mid 50s still using and enjoying computers. To me it was the discovery and wonder on using a computer and less about graphics and sound....that came later for me. My first game system I had was a binetone pong console lol wow that blew my mind at the time. Excelsior sir....I'm still watching and plugging your series in my blog each week and enjoying the nostalgia.

I think I ccan help (2 years too late lol) with an understanding of the golf game. Think of the white bar as the top of your golfer's shoulders, since it's a top down view. Just like real golf, you kind of aim with your feet/shoulders. Even with that, it looks like it would a tough game!

I've always heard about Pinball Construction Set, but I've never seen it in action before. That looks amazing. I always had a lot of fun building my own levels in games.
