I would have guessed you would need liquid in your crock pot but what you said about the partially frozen meat made sense. I am going to try this because potatoes and carrots is a favorite of mine with a roast. Plus an onion!!

Have u ever tried cooking your mushrooms in a dry pan? I always put butter or avocado oil but a few months ago I saw a chef start their mushrooms in a dry pan then wait for the water to cook out of them and THEN add butter or oil and they get browned and the texture is amazing. Now it's the only way I cook them they're so delish! I love burger patties and mushrooms and onions...so good
