The route from Collieston to Whinnyfold is just a narrow track road and undulating farm land. I believe the cliffs between the two locations are just too dangerous for anything other than sheep to be near, hence why there is no clear-cut path. Old Slains Castle was destroyed in 1594 using gunpowder after it's owner was determined to be be part of the failed Catholic Rebellion against King James Vi.

It makes sense, i did see a sign near the coast that said 'sheep grazing on the path', but i didn't see any path!

If you are going from the car park straight to Beinn Narnain it almost feels like you are taking a right hand turn into a bush! It's unmarked and easily missed. Not long after you start the main path and before the first bend, you turn off along a muddy side path which gets clearer the further you go up it. I would recommend walkthehighlands.co.uk for route descriptions. They are my go to!

Hi there, I am a musician looking to branch out into pitching my music scores to film makers and videographers who are seeking an original composition to fit their narrative and resonates with the film. Respectfully asking your permission to download your video and take a minute or so of the footage to add to my 10 minute video showcasing the NE Scotland. I am an Aberdonian living in USA so what best place to start for inspiration than at home. The completed video would be shown on my youtube page and part of an EPK / Resume I can email to directors or film makers. I am by no means taking any credit for the film, I am simply showcasing my music. I will have full credit to you on the video and send you a copy when its done. I am not sure if this is the correct way to do it, I know one can download stuff and chop it up but that doesn't really sit well with me hence the reason for my message.
