Hi there. Thanks for this great review! I'm thinking of buying one of these three headphones. Being wireless is one of the reasons I prefer using them outside, but in general, I intend to use one of them with the mojo2 connected to my desktop computer most of the time. I'm currently using it with the sennheiser ie600, but I don't have an over-ear headphone that I can use with the mojo2. Would you say that any of these headphones paired with the mojo2 wired would provide a better sound overall than the ie600 headphones I'm currently using? If you think they won't provide a better sound than the ie600 and aren't worth it, please let me know what you think?

for less than half the price of any of these headphones the momentum 4, for me, sound the best. It is all down to personal taste however personally for me none of these have the bass performance as the momentum 4 which I adore for music but can also reduce the bass in the app to enjoy other types of music genre.

There is something you said about these headphones during your review before me purchasing them which I found crazy. You said that when you plugged in the headphones via USBC to an android, the volume eas notably lower. This exact same thing happened to me and i was extremely disappointed as i eas already used to listening to my bathys in dac mode. Well good news! I found a way to fix the issue and i hope it works for you to. Plug them into the laptop and whatever volume they have when you un plug them will be the max volume theyll have on the phone. So you plug them into a laptop, put the volume at 100, and then plug it into your phone, youll see that the volume now will be at 100 and that they will sound pretty incredible with the built in dolby atmos that comes with android. So much so i think they now beat my bathys. Let me know if it works for you!

Work colleagues being noisy? Totally want to shut off the outside world? Sit a pair of Apple AirPod Pro2’s in your ear in noise cancelling mode. Next fit the B&W headphones over the top also in noise cancelling mode. Sorted. Nothing gets through.

How is the bass on these? Anyone? I have some Focal Clear and they bass on these are very thin. I don´t want to buy these and have two pair of expensive headphones with low bass. Are the Bathys good with techno and electronic music? Because the Clear is not, so I use those for classic and jazz music mostly.
@immersivesoundtech11 күн бұрын
Yes, the Focal Bathys have enough bass for techno och electronic music - and you can adjust it if you need even more. 👍

Headphones often benefit from a “break-in” period because this allows the components-especially the speaker drivers-to reach their optimal flexibility and responsiveness. This period, also known as “burn-in,” typically involves playing music or noise through the headphones for a few hours or even up to 50-100 hours in some cases, depending on the model and type. Here’s why it can make a difference: 1. Driver Flexibility • The drivers in headphones consist of various components, such as a diaphragm, voice coil, and surround, all of which need to move together to create sound. When headphones are brand new, these components can be somewhat stiff. • Playing sound through the headphones helps to loosen the diaphragm and other moving parts, allowing them to move more freely and accurately. This improved flexibility can result in better frequency response, dynamics, and clarity over time. 2. Improved Bass Response • The bass frequencies can be particularly affected by break-in, as they rely on larger driver movements. As the driver loosens up, bass can become deeper and fuller, avoiding the “tight” or “constrained” sound that new headphones sometimes have. 3. Better Sound Balance • Initial stiffness can also cause imbalance in how different frequencies are reproduced. High and mid frequencies can be overly prominent, and bass may feel subdued. After the break-in period, the sound profile typically becomes more balanced, with bass, mids, and highs in better harmony. 4. Subjective Adjustment • Some of the improvement people notice is also about getting used to the sound of the headphones. As you listen over time, you start adapting to their particular sound signature, which can enhance perceived audio quality. Is Break-In Always Necessary? • Not all headphones need a break-in period to sound their best, and some experts argue that any changes are minimal. Many high-end headphones are designed to perform well right out of the box, but some models-especially dynamic driver headphones-do seem to benefit from a break-in period. In most cases, using your headphones normally is enough to “break them in.” But for enthusiasts, playing pink noise, white noise, or a range of frequencies can expedite the process if they want to reach optimal sound sooner.

@ in the end there is only one primary deal breaker. Do they fit your ears? It sounds basic but it’s a thing. I sent back the wonderful B&W as they #just# pinched my right ear. This is like only finding out that walking boots are for the bin when you’ve worn them all day and they turn your big toe nail black. They just rested on the ear causing discomfort. It’s no wonder. That inner cup volume is compromised with a sloping section. Too much electronics in a cramped space. I’m trying Bose next then Apple at a push. Apple have the best inner dimensions.

Initial office use thoughts… Active noise cancellation is decent but don’t expect nearby conversations to dissapear if you’re monitoring in silence. Air conditioning drone goes away. They do a decent job but I’d say it’s 60% of perfect. Bluetooth range is very good. I work in a large office space and can walk a good 15m away from the source and still connect fine. Even through a wall. They do sound very good however so next test is two sessions of three hour use to check comfort. Looking good so far in that respect. Spectacle wearers - instead of pinching your spectacle arms under the cups you can sit the arms on top of the cans. Doesn’t look too silly.
@bobbydazzler178017 күн бұрын
Active noise cancellation is barely better for filtering office conversations than with it turned off. They reduce in sound but only by about 25%. I guess your music source can do the rest of the job. Wearing comfort however is excellent.
@bobbydazzler178017 күн бұрын
Outside the noise cancellation does better. Road noise from car tyres is dealt with well. As an aside on a cold Autumn day out and about they make for super comfy ear muffs keeping your ears nice and toasty. So far not perfect but more to like than not.

The button controls are easy to locate and work very nicely. None of this touch control nonsense. Only gripe being no long press on the ANC button for Assistant.

@bobbydazzler178017 күн бұрын
Silly not to have voice assistant as standard as a long press on the noise cancelling button. Just trialling the PX7s2e. The pairing to two devices is error prone and clumsy. Connect to a TV and it drops everything else. No way to toggle back to the TV from a phone without going through the TV menu (LG). It was possible to connect to an older iPad then this stopped working. When connecting to the TV you have to crank up the volume to 80%. You can only run their app from one connected device at a time. Try connecting to a new device in the app and it drops all current connections. Even if the new connection fails. When powering on you may have to try multiple times to connect. There are lots of independent reports that the adhesive on the cups and headband fail after a few months of careful use. The jury is out. I’m really trying to like them but there are lots of quirks and concerns. One plus is that I pinged customer support regarding replacement cups. Apparently this is done by a third party. One chap looking after the UK. Anyway he replied after a couple of hours so that’s a positive. Anyway going to try out the ANC in the office tomorrow. If they can’t perform in that environment better than my Apple AirPod Pro 2s they are gone.

Hi Paco! Thanks for watching my videos! 👍 If you are using that cable, sure it can most likely be swapped to a 'better' one. Cables are important. Unfortunately, I have no suggestion for you right now. Maybe someone else here can suggest a good cable. I plan to address the importance of cables in future videos.

I have both the Bathys and px8. I have a preference for the bathys, with a better sound and a much more confortable fit (the px8 is too tight on my head). It is perfect f you can sit on a plane or a train. I use the PX8 on the go (subway, walking) because I do not feel confortable wearing such a large headphone as the bathys in public areas. No big difference in ANC.

Great video, my wife gave me them in the same color, I simply love them, I do not like to listen music by Bluetooth, in any form, including my home set (Marantz model 50 - speakers B&W) I have all wired, ok, it’s is the same with this headphones, I use a Dongle DAC FIIO BTR15, special usb cable, (no ecualization) and believe me the sound they give, is just amazing, for sure I used them with Bluetooth, ok, I never did it again, an I will never do it ever again, because by wire, dac, and tidal……. I feel the same when I am in my sound studio. Please use them as I suggest at least once, believe me, you will discover other reality about them!

@immersivesoundtechАй бұрын
I gave it a good thought, but can't come up with any suggestion. IMHO, the Focal Bathys sound way better than any wireless headphones in the sub 500 euro price range. It's not even a contest. If you really like the sound, my suggestion is to save up and buy the the Focal Bathys when you have the money. My motto has always been: "Buy expensive, cry once" 🎶❤️
