Im not sure if youve gotten the answer since this video is 3 months old,but in response to all the blown up planets -the dark angels planet got blown up in a civil war between the angels and the fallen -youll notice most of the blown up planets are traitor home worlds. This is because after the horus heresy,leman russ was so angry about failing to protect his father,the space wolves went on a revenge campaign -the homeworld of the night lords was actually blown up by Konrad Kurze himself. He had originally beaten all the crime out of the planet and he ruled with fear. After being gone for a while,he returned to find they had gone back to being awful and crime ridden like it used to be,so he blew it up in a fit of rage

31:54 Roboute Guilliman was a kingdom builder. He was the best mind when it came to civil planning, logistics, resource management and strategic warfare. He saw the danger of allowing the legions to remain as strong as they were. So he set an edict called the codex astartes to codify the structure, strategies, and way the new chapters of astartes were to fuction. Some of the other loyal legions and their primarchs agreed, others were against it. Eventually they all followed its guidelines... at least they pretended to. The Imperial Fists were known for how steadfast and stubborn they were. You had to be if your main fuction as a legion was to fortify a location and defend it no matter the cost. But because of this stubbornness they refused to follow the codex astartes and it almost came to civil war. Key word, almost. Rogal Dorn, the primarch of the imperial fists also hated the codex of the astartes but he eventually realized that if he did not relent the imperium would fall. So he chose to sacrifice his legion by fighting the traitor legion, the Iron Warriors. The battle was brutal and lead to almost the entire legion of the Imperial Fists being killed. Now with their numbers being reduced to such a degree they had no choice but to split the legion into chapters.

10:00 orks breed by releasing fungul spores that grow into the area that they land. It can be on a planet's surface, inside a space ship or anywhere there is sufficient nutrients to grow. Naturally that makes it difficult to purge them from a world, but not impossible. If caught early enough, and if the numbers are small enough, you can save the planet by literally burning them out. This is rare because most ork infestations come from large scale invasions and so there are lots of locations where spores can infest.

13:22 Luetin is correct here, but isn't as clear as he could be. "Oddboys" is a catch-all term used to denote an ork is different from just your standard orks. Orks with technical knowledge to build and maintain their guns and vehicles are referred to as Mekboys. Orks who perform "medical" operations are simply called Docs. Ork psychers, those with the ability to wield psychic powers, are referred to as Weirdboys. Remember, orks do not learn their abilities from older wiser orks. That is too inefficient. No they are born with this knowledge known instinctively to them. There are more kinds of Oddboys, but I'll not list them all for brevity.
@dustinfritzfarr95298 ай бұрын
16:00 Okay this part is something that is hard to explain and is debated within the 40k community to a small extent. So I'll try my best. Like humans, all orks have low level psychic energy. Unlike humans this energy isn't really connected to the warp. I mean it sort of is, but that's the pefect example of confusing minutiae that is best left out of a beginner's discussion. For most orks it doesn't really do much for them. But as more and more orks gather, fight, build machines, and eventually Waaagh, this energy builds and becomes more potent. The more psychic energy of the collective orks the more they are able to achieve. The more complex the equipment the Mekboys can build, the more powerful the Weirdboys psychic powers can be. And of course the part that is debated between warhammer fans, the ork's reality bending powers of belief. Some people like to think that the orks belief is so powerful that it is the reason why the God Emperor is still alive on the golden throne. I do not believe that, as funny as that is, it's just too much. Can it make an ork's gun function properly despite being poorly maintained, yes, can it make their vehicles drive faster and their rockets more explosive, yes. This however isn't all that hard to believe because when it comes down to it all it's doing is enhancing what is already there. But it cannot do the impossible, their guns still jam regularly, their vehicles break down often, the thrusters on space ships and rockets sometimes randomly explode. But if you do want to fall into the camp of the ork's belief can do anything, I can't dissuade you. At the end of the day its just lore ment for a table top war game. It's meant to be fun.
@dustinfritzfarr95298 ай бұрын
23:58 A thing that is to be noted about 40k lore. It is almost always written from the human perspective, and it is also written in a consistently, inconsistent manner. Things have been changed over time and rewritten, expanded upon or thrown out many times over the years. It first came out in the 80's after all. This is both deliberate on the part of the writers and a consequence of being roughly 40 years old. But because the imperium of man is controlled by a ruling class of bureaucrats who are constantly censoring and repressing information as well as putting out false information, it helps smooth out these normally confusing details. That and in universe they keep much of their information on paper documents. Because of this there are entire planets that are archives of information that was written down, subsequently been stored away and forgotten. So if some things seem inconsistent or even contradictory, these are the in universe explanations why.

My friend, hello! Thank you for your patience. I did not intend to take so long to get to this video and answer your questions, but it was beginning to seem as though whenever I'd sit down to begin it I would be interrupted! Okay, so here we go! 4:45 The term you're searching for is servo-skull, sometimes written as servo skull. Most of the time, use of a person's skull to construct a servo-skull is a means of honoring someone's service by allowing them to continue to serve in some way (even if largely symbolically) after their death. In terms of what sorts of tasks they can be utilized for, there are many many possibilities! Really they can be used for any sort of simple, repeatable task that doesn't require a great deal of physical strength. The one depicted in this image, for example, is likely for taking notes, transcribing speech, or writing letters for example. Others are used as messengers. Possibly the most common use would be as a sort of mobile security camera. Sometimes their task might be as simple as bearing a brazier of holy fire during a religious ritual. While less common, it's also not uncommon for them to conceal small weaponry for defense of an important person. In all honesty, the possible uses are near-infinite, but in general each servo-skull will be constructed for either a single very specific task or a small collection of closely-related tasks. I realize this description is very unspecific, but any depiction of them in text or art will give you a pretty clear clue on what each one is designed for. 5:48 More or less. There's some slight variation, but as a general rule prime candidates are pre-teen boys who have only recently begun puberty. The implantation process of the various new organs is very tricky and takes several years, and as a whole works best when they are implanted while a subject is undergoing puberty for the entirety of the series of surgeries. Now having said that, a fair number of the novels that follow a boy being recruited by the Space Marines often depict them being selected right around the time of their society's traditional coming-of-age ritual, so it's not uncommon I suppose for them to be taken in the middle of their teenage years; whether that's considered best practice or is a deliberate authorial choice for the books is a different consideration. As a general rule, though, the older the subject is, the less likely the surgeries will go well so there's a fairly limited window of opportunity. 7:28 Specifically the Blood Angels (and maybe some of their Successors, but that's purely speculative on my part). It's my understanding, although I could be wrong* as I am not especially familiar with the Blood Angels, that they sleep in coffins/sarcophagi strictly for cultural/religious purposes. I've not been led to believe there's anything particularly special about those coffins (more specifically, I am not aware of any special technology in their coffins that would mean sleeping outside of one would be a bad idea for them). For example, if they were fighting in a war on a planet and knew that they were in a safe location but for whatever reason couldn't head back to base they could probably catch a few hours of sleep just like any other soldier. On that note, I don't know if you've watched or read anything explaining what all of the various implants are that Space Marines receive, but one of them is called the Catalepsean Node and it effectively changes the way Space Marines in general sleep; that's for a different conversation, though. 7:43 I don't believe this monologue is from any official work. Baldermort's videos always begin, to the best of my knowledge, a brief monologue or scene that he's written himself. By and large, these introductions are expertly crafted to offer insight of a moment of what it would be like to be (or be involved in) whatever the video's topic is. Now, around 22:30 the character's name is mentioned. I looked up a few lists of named characters, and I didn't find one that matches so I suspect that it is one of Baldermort's own. The other alternative is that he is a less well-known character and this monologue is simply written by Baldermort from the character's point of view. 11:25 Yes, that's indeed Sanguinius. Your confusion is understandable; there was a fairly brief time when he was drawn in a way that made him pretty easy to mistake for the Emperor, so it's not just you. 14:08 *These special sarcophagi seem to be special ones that are not the same as those that the Blood Angels normally sleep in, based on my brief reading on Blood Angels recruitment. These ones have specialized life support equipment built into them, although I am unsure if their personal ones do. Regardless, it's worth noting that this is not part of the typical process of becoming a Space Marine, but is a unique practice to the Blood Angels and their Successor Chapters. Their recruitment process is a lot more complicated than normal for a lot of reasons, and I'm not familiar with it at all. In fact, I've rewritten this particular section of the comment three times because after looking it up several times now, I'm not sure if I'm confused because the lore has evolved over time or if I'm just not reading it carefully enough and so it seems contradictory as I'm picking up on different bits and pieces every time I read back over it. I think I just need to move on to the rest of the video, sorry. 20:40 Yeah, they're sealed inside for a full year, which is why these particular sarcophagi require built-in life support equipment. 37:44 This is the answer, I think. Psykers are more common among them than many other Chapters, and Sanguinius himself was a psyker. While this doesn't doesn't turn non-psyker Astartes into psykers, it does make all of them more attuned to it; with their homeworld of Baal being a radioactive, toxic hellscape it does lead to frequent mutations which also means that the psyker mutation is more likely as well. 37:54 You're sort of overthinking it here, actually. Yes, Grey Knights are all psykers but that's because they only select psykers. So if you disregard Grey Knights because they're a highly specialized other thing, Blood Angels have some of the highest proportions of psykers of all the Chapters. 42:41 Before Sanguinius died, the Blood Angels suffered pretty severe genetic instability and he provided a sort of stabilizing influence on them. After he was killed that influence was only a memory and a legacy, and it became much harder to resist. 48:25 First of all, it's good that you remembered! There are a few different layers to the answer. From the outset, the Emperor was designing the Primarchs to be leaders so using some combination of genetic engineering and magic all the Primarchs were imbued with "leadership". In terms of tactics and managing and ordering armies, this is where their upbringing plays a major role. After that, as each one was reunited with the Emperor during the Great Crusade they were further educated by the Emperor and the other Primarchs to sort of bring them up to an appropriate understanding of such things and then were given their Legion and allowed to develop the fine details based on their instinctual preferences (which would constitute some mixture of what was "programmed into them" from their gene-seed and their experiences and personalities up to that point). 52:35 You're exactly correct! The Legions led the Imperial Army and were often supported by the Mechanicum, then the Horus Heresy happens. There are exceptions, but as a general rule when a Legion decided to follow either Horus or the Emperor, the Imperial Army that accompanied them would generally continue to follow them in whichever decision they made. This is partly due to a sense of loyalty to that particular Legion formed from fighting alongside one another for so long, partly that they had shared similar experiences that shaped their minds in similar ways, and also partly due to the influence of just being around the Legions in question. It should also be pointed out that at the time of the Heresy, the "Imperial Army" was a much broader organizational category including both the Imperial Guard and the Imperial Navy as they would be known in the post-Heresy period. Additionally, the Mechanicum was also split during the Heresy. The loyalists, who are now known as the Adeptus Mechanicus, stayed true due to loyalty and a recognition that the Imperium and the Mechanicum had become mutually dependent; the traitors, known as the Dark Mechanicum, followed Horus in rebellion for many reasons ranging from viewing the Emperor as a usurper, to Horus promising that any who followed him could study and develop whatever technologies they wanted including xenos tech and other dangerous technology that was forbidden under the treaty that codified the alliance between the Imperium and Mechanicum. And that's the cut. Cool and good. It's good to be watching your videos again! I have had to prioritize other things for the last month, and likely will only be able to comment over weekends for some time, but I hope you are doing well and having a good time.

@ulfgard47349 ай бұрын
@@LaPlaceRabbit I usually try to make a point to respond in a similar order, item by item, to your questions or messages but I'm going to change that slightly for this response. It seems as though in my initial comment, I failed to make clear the intention and tone of one of the things I said, and for that I am deeply sorry. When I made the statement that you were overthinking the question, I did not mean to imply that it was any sort of personal failing or suggested that your question was insincere. I also did not mean that you ask too many questions. My intention was to communicated that your first understanding-- that the Blood Angels have a much higher than normal number of psykers than most other chapters-- was correct; you seemed to talk yourself out of the idea when you considered the Grey Knights, who are a super specialized group of Space Marines and do represent an implied exception to the general statement that Blood Angels have more psykers than basically any other loyalist Chapter. Having reviewed my earlier statement, I can see that I was not nearly as clear in expressing the sentiment that you were right with your first guess as I had thought I was. I'm sorry that my lack of clarity implied that I was making a more general statement than that, or that it was in any way negative towards yourself. One of my great joys is watching new people dive into the setting of Warhammer 40,000 and discover it for themselves, make connections between new information and things they've already been told, and hear the sounds in their voice when the pieces fit together. Your content is excellent at that! Questions are a part of that process, of course, even before one considers what it means to do reaction style content. I feel very badly about conveying any broader criticism of your video when I had only meant my comment to address the very specific question at 37:54. It's not lost on me that you specifically mention in your response that you were very careful and purposeful in reading my comments to form your response. I should have been equally deliberate in writing my initial comment in the first place. I'll do better. Now, regarding the rest of your comment: I'm sorry I worried you. It ended up taking a fair bit longer than I'd anticipated to properly recover, but now it's just a question of getting back into the rhythm of things. I typically don't spend any time at all researching the answers to your questions. This was something of a special case because I remember knowing the answer years ago but your video made me aware that I'd forgotten and that bothered me a little bit so I felt compelled to look it up for my own information more than anything. The end result is that that I don't think I ever understood their inner workings as well as I had thought I did, which was only made somewhat more complicated by the fact that as time has moved on I've not been keeping a very close eye on new developments so I was left rather confused as to what details were "new" and which ones I'd simply forgotten over the years. All that to say, in almost any other case so far I tend to pull entirely from what I recall learning in the past and the comments on this video were something of an exception. It's actually quite difficult to decide which Chapter I like best. Space Wolves, Black Templars, and White Scars are all very interesting because they were resistant to having their identities stripped away by Guilliman when he decided he was the smartest living man in the galaxy and should just unilaterally decree that everything should be done his way after the Horus Heresy. Then there's the Blood Ravens; they've got some elements of mystery to them and they have a special place in the hearts of many, myself included, as they were the gateway to 40K in the early 2000's through the Dawn of War series. Or any of the Chapters from the 21st Founding like the Lamenters, the Black Dragons, or the Fire Hawks which are all SUPER cursed! All things considered, I guess this isn't an especially helpful way to answer your question since you specifically asked for ONE; I hope it can still be of some use to you in bringing your attention to groups that you might not have considered looking into yet. Maybe some of the ones on this list are not very interesting to you, and that's okay. Hopefully some of the others are.

My friend, I'm sorry for the lack of communication between us! The mistake is mine! My English isn't the best and I failed to understand what you were saying! I'm sorry about that! I just thought you were giving me some advice, some feedback on the video! You've been with me since the beginning, helping me and explaining things to me. I don't want you to feel bad about it! It was my mistake, I'm sorry! I'll improve my English and my understanding, ok! Furthermore, this is the purpose of these videos, To me practice my English!🙂👍 I'm happy to know you're better! Go back at your own rhythm and don't try too hard! until you are 100%!!😄 As far as I know you don't have the extra organs of a Space Marine!!! 🤣 sorry I'm not good with jokes!!🤦♂️ And about the research I just want it to be fun for you! both react and comment! but of course if you like researching when you forget something and want to remember it, if it's ok for you and you like doing it, I'm happy! I know that sometimes it's hard to keep up because they launch new things! But I hope my reacts can also help you with these new details, even if just a little! since I know you have a LOT of knowledge about this universe! thanks!! And regarding the chapters, I'll take a look at each one you listed! and it's not that I didn't consider it! I just don't know! Some of these names I don't even remember having been in previous videos, But I'll do it, ok!👍 It may take a while because Warhammer 40K reacts are the longest to record and edit, but I'm going to do it because I'm really enjoying it. I just recorded a video about Orks! and it was really cool, I learned a lot, I also said a few things that I knew!! (Some I learned from you!) I like how detailed and complete this universe is. So I believe you when you say that these chapters are cool!! I'm like a nerd or geek if you prefer! When I enter a fantasy world I like to explore every detail of it until I know it!!!😊 and lastly I wanted to tell you something! THANKS!!! As I said at the beginning of this comment Which is already big, sorry about that! You have been with me since the beginning, helping me and teaching me more about this fantastic universe, always commenting when you can, and showing all your love for this universe! commenting with great respect even when my video has bad sound. You've been helping me a lot since the beginning and I'll never forget that my friend! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

@@LaPlaceRabbit It's okay. Misunderstandings happen all the time; I'm just glad we were able to get it straightened out! My biggest problem was that I kept trying to do too much too soon, and ended up putting myself behind as everything ended up half-started and never finished. A Space Marine's biology would certainly have helped avoid that happening, that's for sure! 😆 I enjoy doing a little bit of research now and then, no worries! I was one of those weird kids who used to read the encyclopedia so I could know everything about everything, and then when I fell in love with this setting as a teenager I'm pretty sure I read every page on the Lexicanum website at the time. All that to say: I don't mind doing a little bit of reading to track down some specific answers where required; it takes me back in time to when I was just learning, too! There should be a fair bit for you to go through with each of the chapters. There's definitely more about some of them than others, some are fairly obscure and not especially well detailed but are somewhat more unique from other standard Space Marines, and with one of them I'm actually trying to trick you just a little bit. I promise it's not malicious, but there's a surprise that I think will be more interesting if you can find out about it on your own. Hopefully it works and I'm not just setting you up for frustration 😅 I'm glad you're having fun with the setting! And if for any reason you need to take a break from it because you're not enjoying it as much as you used to, I want you to know that's okay! I've often found that nothing kills enjoyment faster than feeling trapped by something that used to be fun. Awesome! I'm glad to hear that you looked into the Orks a little more! They're very cool, probably my favorites in the whole setting. They're just a little harder to talk about without very specific examples because there is so much inherent variation in everything about them. With Imperial Guard or Space Marines you can talk about individual pieces of equipment or vehicles quite easily, while when talking about Orks it's always [a range of things that roughly have X characteristics OR fill Y purpose] which can be a lot for beginners to take in, especially without getting wordier than I already am! Orks are so cool, though! I'm excited! WAAAGH! And it's my pleasure to be here on this journey with you! You have a lovely personality, commendable curiosity, and it is obvious that you put a lot of hard work into your videos. Thank you for putting in the effort, and for being so receptive.

So there's actually a mechanic where you do a melee finishing move on stunned enemies to regain health. You can see an enemy has been stunned when they have that hazy circle effect around them and the red marker over their head. The game has been flashing instructions for it at the bottom of the screen, although it does not do a very good job at actually telling you what buttons to press. It might be worth your time to have a look at the controls, because it's much clearer there. If I remember correctly, the game calls them executions. Just for the record, I've never seen anyone play this far without doing any executions; that's not a criticism - I want you to know I'm impressed! 5:52 Yes, you are saying ammunition correctly. 15:22 This fight kills everyone at least once! It's one of the messiest fights in the game, in my opinion. I think it took me maybe three or four tries when I first got the game, so good job only doing it in two! Hope you're having fun with it! And I hope your Christmas went well.
@LaPlaceRabbit10 ай бұрын
I looked it up on the internet! It says it's the right mouse button but I'm sure I've already tried it! Wow! Seriously😲!!! I'm the one who's impressed! I'm playing in normal mode, I thought it was slow because I'm just starting out! Yes I'm having fun! But for me the most important thing is to know if you are enjoying it! I'm sorry if I'm taking so long to respond and I'm not posting new videos is because I'm with my family here for the holidays! And I don't have time to edit or record! I hope you are feeling better and are no longer sick my friend! And I hope you have a happy holiday and happy New Year!!🥳🥳🥳🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉🎉🎉
@ulfgard473410 ай бұрын
@@LaPlaceRabbit Don't worry about taking time to focus on family and your life! It's the holidays - that's what they're for! And thank you for asking, I'm doing much better now. It's not my favorite thing that I'm now trying to catch up with everything right in the middle of the holidays: I'm not sure exactly how it goes for you, but usually the days between Christmas and New Year's is one of the slowest weeks of the year. This year it's turning out to be very busy. On the topic of Space Marine: you're really cutting a bloody path through the Orks, that's for sure! The game does get harder from here, but that last fight has always stood out to me as one of the most frantic; on one hand it does really help to demonstrate the escalation of threat that the Orks really represent on this world, but it does feel very sudden. Still have to make time to sit down and properly watch your reaction to Baldermort. You can count on hearing from me again at that time. Cheers!

I sent him an email asking if I could react to his videos! but he still hasn't answered me! probably because of the holidays! If you have a specific video you want me to react to, let me know. There were always psykers amongst humans(or at least they popped up from early human history), when they talk about psykers popping up and being discovered later on what they mean is that now there're so many psykers being born in galaxy that humanity in general realized psykers existed instead.
@LaPlaceRabbit10 ай бұрын

10:21 Those are Gretchin, also called Grotz. They're a related lifeform to Orks. They aren't as strong, but they're vicious and clever. The Orks use them to handle tasks that they are too big and clumsy to do themselves, or don't have the patience for.
