This hobby is more addicting than heroin and I'm a recovering addict. I live for this stuff. I started with balsa kits, then, ARFs and now, I want to build giant scale model planes from scratch. Great video and I look forward to seeing the entire process of building a giant rc plane.

I come back to this video every so often to remind myself of how Jase developed over the years. This is an ar we don't talk about much anymore, but he still flew it as if it were the latest and greatest design Chris and Ben have to offer right now. Watch the faces of the guys around the flight line as their brains try to catch up with the maneuvers and comprehend what their eyes are seeing. Great stuff.

Fyi.. gorrila superglue, and hobby lobby brand superglue... beats wood glue when clamped to dry. Ive done several different weight tests on different woods and different joints. Those two brands have beat every type of wood glue ive ever tried including all types of titebond by nearly 20% more weight or inconclusive because the wood broke while the titebond joints broke. Superglue is called cyanoacrylate. This type of glue penetrates deep into the wood when clamped or pressure is applied by some means. It can penetrate up to 1/2 an inch.. then it dries into a tough, rigid, and forgiving compound, in as little as 5 minutes. We all know that sometimes a compound that doesnt have a little flex is weaker. 3m superglue sucks, loctite superglue sucks. But gorilla superglue and hobbylobby brand in the yellow bottle are where strength is. The hobbylobby yellow bottles are the cheapest. 5 bucks for 4 times as much as a 6 dollar bottle of gorrila superglue.

This is Not a build video.... Its an assembly video! This is an ARF no building, just assembly. I guess you buy furniture at Ikea and tell your friends you built the furniture.

If you have the time and just want to be precise, Well that is Okey, But I measured my first 2 or 3 planes, Than I just eye balled them from then on . Iv'e been building , Designing for 54 years, and never had one thea didn't fly well. Just a choice, Nit a necessity.

Add right thrust and it will be correct.

As I watch I just noticed when you have a tapered horizontal stab like that, if your table is flat you can always measure from the table to the tip of the horizontal stabilizer on both sides and it gives you a very quick and accurate way of knowing if it's perfectly horizontal. However in order to do this the fuselage must be perfectly square to the table👍🏼

Great video! This is a nice introductory video, even for non-giant scale aircraft. I look forward to the next video. Subscribed! :-) Also although a pilot moving to giant scale should already know this, but it may be helpful to explain some more advanced radio programming like expo, dual rates, throttle kill, etc. if a soon to be giant-scale pilot has not used a more modern radio.
@GiantScaleNews10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply and for being our first subscriber! There's a list of videos planned and we'll be covering radio set-up and programming, probably as we get closer to flying the Edge in this first video.
