I recently did this in my driveway. Best advice I can give is, leave the strap on the new shock, get the bottom end on first, then cut the strap and use your jack to manipulate the control arm slightly to get the top end on. In my case, once the shock had fully extended, I needed to raise the control arm about 1/4” to get the top end onto the stud.

I'm running an Intek 20 HP Briggs Stratton motor on my mower (model# 407577-0283) using the same filter and pre-filter that you're showing. Other sites and videos have said that the mesh side should be UP on the pre, but yours is down. Is this a personal preference or is there any reason it should matter? I've never changed mine before and I want optimal protection and air flow. I bought an aftermarket replacement filter kit from Walmart, and I've noticed in replacing it that the rubber gasket seems too thick to close the cover down on it. My housing cover only has two bolts instead of the four, and for some reason it seems to have a gap that it didn't have before. Unfortunately, I tossed the old filter already so I can't use it for reference. Did I just get a bad part, or am I doing something wrong? I have the two front tabs that hold the housing cover in place and once I get those in and align the bolt holes and tighten, mine is sitting with about an eighth inch gap between the cover and the engine top. Should I get a different filter to try, or should I just shave off a bit of rubber? As an added measure, I seated the filter and closed down the cover on it in the hopes that it would compress but it doesn't appear to be that malleable. Hard to find any info on this issue or this exact filter/motor so I thought I would ask.

I have that dcf887 model too and it’s a beast for a 1/4 impact driver. It won’t break them loose if they’re tighten to like 1,000 ft lbs at the tire shop but it’s a great all around impact.
