I’d say it is worth the money if the design & functionality of this bag is what you’d really enjoy wearing, if it fits the use cases you are thinking of. Quality is really good but if I had to choose a bag purely based on how the leather feels I’d prefer leather of bags from other brands. I’d recommend to ”touch” this bag live before deciding:) I mean, leather is great but it has somewhat hard surface, not subtle/soft.

oh my gosh thanks for the thorough review. I thought I was the crazy one or doubted the authenticity of my preloved jodie. From the wear to the leather along the zipper line, to the mysterious stitch line down the middle of the bag, to the uneven stitch design of one side to the other. No one talks about any of these things! Albeit at the end of the day she’s a beauty and one of my most beautiful bags. But you must take care of it if you don’t want the weaving to start to wear too fast. One thing I do for the zip, everytime I zip/unzip, I’ll pinch the zipper from both sides so the leather is pulled away from the pull. So to avoid more wear. Thanks again!

Perhaps they are not so obvious from the first sight, but I do notice every detail, haha 🧐🤓😉 Great tip for the zipper, I actually started doing the same. However, I keep it open most of the time! What’s the size & color of your Jodie and do you enjoy it?:)

I fell in love with that color and hunted it down preloved on eBay. as you can imagine the nail biting, but it went through eBay authentication and I authenticated it separately so all good. Great question, do I enjoy it? haha. I am a taller person and I had hopes the medium would have much more room for the shoulder carry, but it's still a struggle! And the bag is heavy! which again a lot of ppl don't really mention. I'm guilty of this too, you want to love a brand/bag so much we almost make concessions for its cons. haha.

@@beebeeme2023 oh the jodie in grape looks stunning! 🍇 I can imagine that sizes bigger than teen get heavy when filled. However, they look very convenient on a shoulder. Haha, sometimes when we love a design we indeed tend to ignore some of the other aspects of an item 🙈 As long as it gives joy it’s still worth keeping:)

Hi lovely, you are so welcome 💜 Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I am still loving this bag, no regrets. Wears so well and still feels like new, the only thing I noticed getting some slight scrathing is the metalic closure as it’s metal on metal and is touching with each open & close move. Raffia ones are very nice, if you love raffia! Oh, I shall mention one thought regarding the shape. I prefer Mayfair version 2, that new shape and am now eyeing one of those now :)) Mayfair 2 were not released when I bought mine. There’s no in interwoven style though! Let me know if you decide to order one (and if yes then which:) All the best choosing ☀️

I have to say that your video is by far my favorite one out of all the ones I saw, please continue to do more videos, you are super inspiring (making me want to give a shot at filming as well !) I also really love the Mayfair2 version but thinking the midi may be more bulkier in that style? I originally wanted to go with a neutral mini size that would be a good day-night transition. The Mayfair2 in Champagne metallic croc looks so pretty! I am 5'8 so maybe the midi will be okay. I also do like that it has one single compartment, may fit more things. Something about the woven and raffia bags that is so timeless and summery though, I am so drawn to esp after your video =) Please please do a review if you get any of the Mayfair2 versions. The previous speakers, the Elysian 4, should be very good as well. You can always combine color with white. They are always a color match.

Well they were good, but to me personally they were the speakers I liked the least out of all which I’ve ever heard at home 😌 Bulky by design, and the sound lacked clarity…

I have not heard the Elysian 4 -But a friend who runs an audio business picked them as his reference speaker and even measured the response and they were spot on - anyway the 30 i have not heard but the 50 I have and they were good but so overpriced just ridiculous. Great video -lucky husband.

Hi thank you for great review with lots of detailing. I just want to share what I found in my bottega hop bag. Not sure if you notice the leather is glue/sealed with a fabric underneath and it eventually tear apart after used for a while such heart breaking 😢

So I went back to store today and check out all other bottega veneta hop bag and realized partial of the leather in hop bag around the handle area having some kind of fabric that is glued/ sealed together underneath with leather I think they just want to make it more stronger however after use for a while the fabric and the leader will tear apart, you know like when the glue got loses. I checked all the.Jodie bag and I don’t see that any of it has that fabric in sealed with leather. So I guess only on the hop bag I took a picture if you want me to share with you.

I really want to buy this but i have surch everywere if you could shorten the chains, make them double, if you understand what i mean? When you open the bag, is it possible to pull the black on the inside ?

Hi lovely! The black leather part of the strap which is on the inside of the flap is possible to open if you’d like to remove the strap, but it only moves towards one direction through the loops, so the chain always stays in same place firmly when you use it. You can cross the chain to put the upper black leather part (the shoulder strap) inside, then you get a double chain. But it leaves only 17cm chain drop, which makes the bag possible to carry on your elbow but not shoulder. I’d recommend to see the bag live to play a bit with the strap and decide if it works for you 💜 Good luck deciding 😊🫶

Definitely getting Un nano! Your review once again confirmed that it is small, but nice and spacious bag. The only issue I have is color. Have been contemplating between textured sandalwood and taupe for a month now as I want a versatile color that will go with most other combinations and outfits.

Hi lovely 💜 I’m so glad to hear the review was useful! Oh the sandalwood colour is very nice. I think it looks best on someone with dark hair or cold skintone, like the model on Polenes website. Camel is a warmer one, at least how I see it. But overall, depends on what do you plan to wear it with, what color makes you extra glad seeing it? Both can work well with many outfits:) And un nano is such a grab & go bag, one of my most used ones, and it still looks pristine!

I am a redhead, but I do not like the way most camel bags looks on me unfortunately (too warm and bright), so I think I need contrast. My wardrobre constists of both cool an warm tones. I wear a lot of black, cream, navy, grey, khaki/olive green, tan shades, darker camel (as not strange)etc…my shoes are mostly black and ecru/white though. So am looking for a neutral bag color (except black) that could work with both warmer and coller tones. So I thought maybe Polene’s sandalwood or taupe would be best. But problem is I have to pick only one and not sure which one would be most versatile 😀

Just bought them, using since 2 days on thin hair. Total waste of money, they do not hold on one place, maybe for 2 min then they are slowly sliding down. It's pure marketing, if you you are budget sensitive don't buy them

Great thorough review of this beautiful bag. And I love the color you chose. I have tons of Birkins , Kelly’s, and classic Chanels, but I carry my Jodies the most. I have 5 in sizes teens, small and medium. I carry my kiwi teen a lot during the Spring and Summer and my small and medium during the Fall and Winter. Also, I love to carry my medium when wearing big coats. It’s the perfect Winter bag.

I went to store to purchase my saddle belt bag and realized the thread was coming out. Went back to the store to exchange for a better piece and all 4 has defect 😢 no choice but to take the one that has lesser defect. Horrible

I have similar style as bucket bag in balck with studs & mini mina bag in white. I love this design, now i’m considering size 25🥰 I’m wondering could you find any other shoulder strap that would fit into tiny loops? I don’t like thin shoulder strap that comes with the bag, but i wasn’t able to find a replacement☹️

Hi lovely 💜 Oh, the white Minna is so nice in all sizes! 25 is a perfect mid-way from small to bigger bag I’d say. As for the shoulder strap loops they are tiny indeed. I have one more bag with similar ones so it would work to interchange their straps. But I personally haven’t considered or searched for any other strap for this bag so have nothing to recommend.

Run wax paper along the zipper and it’ll help it glide smoothly. I’ve done this to wallets and bags and it works like a charm!

Hi! I remember trying this trick with a wax candle on a zipper of some puffer jacket, worked wonders:) Haven’t tried the wax paper though but will give it a try as a candle may be too ”greasy” for a bag… Thanks for a good tip lovely ☺️💛

Thank you for your vid! I managed to pick up this exact bag and colour on sale here in the UK. With a further 15% off the reduced price it came to £177 (so a similar price to yours I guess), not bad plus I got the engravjng thrown in 😁 I almost always wear a cross over bag and my current one is brown, so fancied a different colour and something slightly dressy for everyday wear 💃 I'm a busy mum and work part time, so hopefully it does the job 🤞,🙏 Thanks again for your review! 👍xx

I’m here because my bag just arrived smelling of strong skunk cannabis, quick google tells me this is not only really common but is to do with the tanning, making me feel quite sick

Oh dear, so sorry to hear 💜 Yes, the same happened to me! The smell didn’t go away, the leather felt like plastic and the experience was far from lux. I don’t know why there’s so little info about it online, some review here also promote the bag. Perhaps it’s not bothering others, considering the low price compared to other ysl products. Or perhaps not all of these bags have that oddour. Will you keep yours?

Luckily my leather seems fine, it does look like leather but it’s just the smell. I ordered the black also, and that’s fine. They’re actually very beautiful it’s just the smell of the vintage white….i’ll see if the smell persists over the next few days, it’s pretty nauseating right now!

I bought a card holder from a store, when i got in the car i realized the CD was crooked and a part of the leather was lifting. It was the only color they had in the color I wanted so I had to settle for a black card holder instead. 12 days later the stitching was coming loose. They are sending me a different wallet soon and I really hope its nothing less than perfect. How disappointing for you to experience.

I knew Fossil but never think much about it until Tanner Leatherstein approved the leather quality in one of his videos. I have never been into brands, only into the leather quality.

Thank you for your honest review. I too figure these might take a fair bit of practice and tinkering to get the hang of how they might work best with one's specific hair. This might not be an option, but in the past when friends with far finer hair texture than I have need to use hairpin tool with a smooth and shiny surface, they would sometimes lightly spray the tool itself with a bit of hairspray. They might even add a super light texturizing spray to the mid to ends of their hair. They often found this might help provide a bit more grip between the tool and their hair. For anyone that tries this trick, please remember a little goes a long way. So you can layer it bit by bit and let it dry just a bit to get to a tacky state. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on trying these with your kiddo and if they are easier to use when you're not feeling around for it on the back of your head.
