240 bucks + 10% on tax when buying + 24% tax on rent + cleaning fees etc. Not a good deal at all for the way it looks.

In your opinion perhaps. But I must disagree. As I have just sold this apartment in the past week. I know very well what selling prices are here, the value of properties and what people will pay. It is not to everyones liking, but it is what it is, a free, self-balancing market. Lifestyle buyers will pay more (and generally have more) for the right properties than those looking to invest.

Yes, they have increased a heck of a lot over the past 5 years or so! I sold a one bed in this complex reently which I had priced round 470,000€! It was very nice but still an awful lot of money. Similar prices on Santiago 3 and 4, Tenerife Royal Gardens and Club Atlantis - all front line. You can still get a decent 1 bed apartment in Los Cristianos for around 200,000€.
