I've wanted children & will never be blessed with them 😢 To me, people with kids are the richest and most blessed.

I believe that when we are tempted, it is a trial, but not everyone chooses to see it as a trial. God never tempts us, but he TESTS us with the temptations, if we allow ourself to see it through the Lords perspective, as a trial, that is from the lord, the perspective to surpass the temptation as a trial. I think 😅

Hey, thanks for the comment. Sometimes it's hard not to worry, yes, however God has not given us a spirit of fear so when that feeling comes along we must remember that worry doesn't come from God. And if it doesn't come from God it isn't good. #Philippians4:6

- Brent and get Tyler, great podcast. I am working my way through all of them - I really enjoy them. I usually listen in the car and cannot post, but unfortunately for you I have lots of time tonight! - Great discussion on hypocrisy. I ask atheists (and I work with a number of them and we discuss these things often) why being a hypocrite is bad. Says who? Them? What if I say it’s good? What is good and bad? If God doesn’t exist then there is no good or bad anything - everything is opinion. Any moral claim of good or evil is strictly opinion even if it is an entire society making the claim through laws or statutes or cultural norms that say things like hypocrisy are good or bad. The holocaust wasn’t wrong if God doesn’t exist. We can say it was wrong, but the Germans said it was good. If the Germans had won WWII would exterminating Jews, homosexuals, and mentally handicapped be good or would it still be wrong? If it is still wrong then there has to be an authority outside of humanity to declare good and bad. A moral law requires a moral law giver…and that includes an authority to say that hypocrisy is bad. And yes, Christians are hypocrites - that’s why we need Jesus. We will always be sinners in need of forgiveness. - Happiness is the temperature, joy is the thermostat. Happiness is an emotion based on current situation whereas joy is a lifestyle. - I loved what you said about us tolerating a “small” sin because it makes us happy - “just” one or two scenes in a movie or something along those lines. So true. I was very convicted of this about a year ago when I was doing a study of 1 John and I realized that I routinely watched, laughed at, and enjoyed things that God hates. Enjoying the exact things that put Jesus on the cross. I did that - not the Jews. Disgusting. - The American dream has been distorted. The American dream historically is that we have many, many freedoms with limited government involvement. It has been perverted to a race to gather as much money and “things” as possible. The real American dream is based on the “self-evident” truth that only God gives rights, not government, and government’s responsibility is to protect our God-given rights. - Great discussion on worry and that’s a great old hymn. - Great discussion on “church.” Big misunderstanding about the word. The New Testament never uses the word as a place - it is always people. The Greek word literally means “called out ones.” The purpose of meeting with the church is to edify and to be edified - read 1 Corinthians 10 and Ephesians 4. You can’t do that “alone in the woods.” I heard a sermon where a preacher talked about this. Somebody asked him how he knew he loved his wife. He said because he always wanted to be with her. Great analogy. Jesus loves the Church - we should love the Church and want to be with the Church. - Sharing the truth. Paul says we are ambassadors. Ambassadors don’t have punch clocks - we are always on duty. All Christians are in ministry. Read Ezekiel 33 about the watchman! - I look forward to your next episode.

When you call the world "broken" you can't HELP but to act on that belief. It's egregious how Christians refer to the entire rest of the world like they have some type of superiority, when in all reality, they believe in talking animals and bushes, invisible flying entities, and that they deserve a better next life that they have ZERO evidence for, rather than live this one. I'M NOT BROKEN. It's BrOkEn to think other people are.

Hey we appreciate your comment. Referring to the world as broken isn't from any level of superiority, it's because it is. Wars, Sex trafficking, broken relationships, self harm, suicide, doubt, depression, abusive relationships, child abuse, world governments that flex their power and destroy the lives of people. These are all forms of brokeness that is revealed to us daily. As Christians we believe we're called to help those that have been broken by some of these examples. That doesn't come from a level of superiority but a position where many christians were brought out of. You may not be broken and I'm certainly glad you're not.
