@Dipshitbarnaby Im confused as to how trucking, the most influential part of most economies, the weak link in transportation. That would mean buses are the weak link in transportation too.

The point is that your so called productive sectors are productive only because food prices are low. If i have money to buy either a weeks worth of food or a TV I think I am Gonna buy the food. BTW I dislike Taxes just as much as you do, but you will pay it either way and all I am saying is that I can think of a lot worse areas they are spending tax dollars.

Go ahead and don't pay farmers tax dollars and see what happens. The reason they give farmers subsidies is to keep the food prices low. When food prices aren't low consumers have to pay more of their income towards food, which means less towards cars, tv, entertainment, etc, etc. In other words it would be bad for the economy if food prices were high and that is why the government tries to keep prices low by using subsidies.

farmers can't buy new equipment without tax monies your talking $90,000.00 for a new tractor. no one has that kind of monies in there pocket
