I use it sometimes and still like it. Just the right size to carry all you need when mountain biking.

I wouldnt suggest for 25deg C +. Prefer using if for temperatures between 15deg C - 25deg C being the maximum.

Really nice vid, thanks. O'Shannassy's is a great ride, but almost always there are fallen trees to negotiate and the Dee Rd slip bridge has been broken for years (most people still walk across it, lifting or pushing the barriers aside). Where you encountered the locked gate near Dee Rd you should have turned right and followed the narrow walking path up to carpark (the signage is woeful!), then thru the carpark, and about 100m down Dee Rd on the other side you'll see the wooden barriers marking start of Dee Rd to Parrot Rd section. It's easy to miss! The other end of O'Shannassy's, from Yuonga Rd up to the Weir is also a great ride, albeit quite hilly in places.

I am looking at the Marlin 7Vs DS, which do you prefer to ride? I will be mainly commuting to work and hopefully some off road in the future. Thanks!

Both are good bikes as I own both. I commute on DS as I can achieve more speed and can reach destination faster. Marlin 7 is a sweet on hill climbs and just love it on off road trails.

@2wheels575 Жыл бұрын
Had to go in for large as it is pro collection which has body cut fitting. Fits well except for sleeves which are slightly large. Generally medium is my size in the core / classic range. Height/weight is 168 cms / 75 Kg's.

The 2023 model(gen 5)loses the front suspension fork in favour of a rigid carbon and consequently a significant amount of weight. Although it comes with much beefier tyres. I’m just wondering if that 40T chainring is going to maintain a decent pace on the flats. I’m migrating from a MTB, so I want to stick that form factor.
@jamesgretsch4894 Жыл бұрын
Did you ever buy a Dual Sport 3? If so how are you liking it?
@aearly841 Жыл бұрын
I purchased the Gen 4 which I got heavily discounted. The suspension fork is horrendous, heavy and very poor quality, unusable …The gear shifter is so stiff, it has given me RSI. Stock saddle is uncomfortable…Shimano brakes excellent for city cycling….The bike is fine for my needs(zippy urban commuter) …Definitely not something for long distances…

Can you help me in picking out a bike? I really love the look of this one. Ive currently ridden a san rafael marin DS 1 which is probably very similar for 599 and it felt like a dream. I almost pulled the trigger but hesitated bc I felt there might be something better for that price? Anyways it looks like this bike is no longer being sold...????

I own this bike in this color and it is amazing. It's very fast. It's the best bicycle I've ever had. When the wind is at your back this bike is extremely fast on a flat.

Yah I can help you. This bike is more expensive than that. I would never buy a bike for 599$ that would be like peddling a tank around compared to this dream. You get what you pay for.

Do you find 1x10 to have enough range? What kind of top speed do you get? And is it a chore to downshift all the way from high to low? With a 2x or 3x I find it very easy to drop a gear up front when I encounter an unexpected incline. Any cross chain issue?
@2wheels5752 жыл бұрын
I have been enjoying the 1x10 a lot and my other bike marlin 7 has it too. The gear range has been pretty impressive and i mostly used only top 5 gears . Couple of times have down to the last gear when doing a hill climb. I feel it all a personal choice and the type of terrain you ride. No cross chain issues until now. Have ridden over 3000 kms until now and going good.

Is it a big difference between ds2 vs ds3 ? I want to get ds3 but the wait is month and ds2 is available now
@ElProsepoem2 жыл бұрын
yes
@2wheels5752 жыл бұрын
The main difference between DS2 & DS3 is the drive train. The 1x10 drive train on the DS3 gives that additional speed which the DS2 didn't have. I waited for nearly for six months to get it but the wait is worth as I earlier rode a 2019 DS2.
@nakreidog2 жыл бұрын
@@2wheels575 thank you, so I did came for ds2 today to the store , but decided not to take it and purchase ds3 with a 3 weeks of wait. Also the breaks on ds2 felt soft and the color of shiny black look kinda cheap. I really like that mate grey on ds3 . So going to wait 🤷♂️

I do own a Marlin 7 as well and use it for mountain biking, have done a walkthrough video earlier. Dual sport is more of a commuter for day to day riding. As I commute to work, dual sport ticks all boxes. Pricing is same for both bikes.
