really really resonating with what you said about being freelance and single at the same time and how lonely that is, it is a struggle and a half 🥲this is my first time watching / listening to the podcast but I'm excited to keep following along!! I needed some creativity / art life chats in my life <3

It's funny how people like you jumped on the bandwagon when BLM was trending put out content like this, but haven't said anything about racism since. I see through fake people like you who chase clout. You don't care about racism, you care about looking like a good person online. If you did, you would have done more about racism in our own country (not America) long before George Floyd (who is American, so, not my country, not my problem)

i used to turn to meditation a lot when I was really really anxious during the last years but as I got better I tend to forget to do it for longer periods and it makes it even harder to get back meditation when you are in a bad place. So I really want to integrate it into my everyday life no matter how I am doing mental health wise. Thanks for reminding me! 🌷

This was such a brilliant conversation, thank you for sharing it! I'm feeling very inspired to go and be creative now! Also, I know Louie knows this, but I just want to assure them that they absolutely don't need to share details about their trauma to help convince cishet people that queerphobia exists. Like, it's horrifying how trans people are expected to bare our souls and perform our pain just for people to see us as deserving of basic human rights. (And like, I say that while being aware that as a white trans guy I have a lot of privilege compared to trans women and trans femme folks, especially trans women and trans femmes of colour.)

I always enjoy your chats Natalie they’re very calming 😊 I’ve been thinking about this topic recently and also confidence as well and how it relates to action. Something that’s helping me right now is working digitally as it’s so much quicker. And the more I create the more that builds confidence and stops the overthinking

Hey! Loved this video!💛 I'm a big procrastinator myself, and for me it's directly linked to either anxiety or chronic illness symptoms (fatigue and pain mostly). I have some tips and tricks and I'm willing to sound like a complete weirdo in case it can help you too😅so here we go! First tip is : if stuck, get moving. If your couch or bed is giving you the death hug and you feel like you just can't get up and get to work, just get moving! Tap your feet, move your arms, you'll end up being able to get up and get going. Alternately, stop doing anything. No phone scrolling or youtube binging, no music or anything : sit there and do nothing. You'll end up being so bored and uncomfortable that getting up to do the dishes will sound like a treat. It's also a great time to figure out your triggers ( are you stressed? tired? overwhelmed? etc). Don't underestimate the power of a good beat to keep you going. Studies have shown people work out longer and harder with music, and I've found it works with other chores too! If you get a bad procrastination day/ week, set an alarm every hour (or whatever timing feels right), and make it a goal to do something productive for at least 5 min (or more) everytime it goes off. You'll probably keep going for more than 5 min, and if not, at least you got something done AND you practiced getting disciplined enough to get up and do things. Add accountability/ social pressure to the mix : if people are waiting on me, I tend to not procrastinate as much as I don't want to fail them. Having friends come over for a coffee or a game night means I better clean a little😅 AND it feels like a reward for doing so. I also make deals with my partner if I've been procrastinating a specific task, let's say writing a blogpost or finishing my next product, I'll define a reasonable task to tackle the next day and when he gets back home, either it's done or I need to take on one of his chores for the week, give him twenty bucks to spend on something I don't care for, or whatever works as a motivation to escape it... 🤣sometimes he does little things to celebrate my victory when I managed to do it too. 🥰 And most of all : procrastination and burnout are not the same. If you're exhausted, rest. 🤗

Happy New Year Natalie 🎉 I hope you and your loved ones are ok, sorry to hear about your Dad. I can relate to getting distracted and working on consistency. Another struggle for me is believing in myself and my work. Sometimes I’m really proud of what I’ve drawn, but then I think of how I could improve and then that can lead to me thinking my work isn’t professional enough or good enough. So that is also something I want to leave behind 👋

Did the one habit a month last year too!! Really nice cause the pressure is lower. Don't be too hard on yourself when you miss a few weeks or even months though! Life will happen. I worked on my morning routine in jan last year and found myself slipping in and out of it. Was hard on myself for lacking consistency for a bit but then realised its actually really cool to have this flexibility! My mourning routine is there for me when I need it but isn't a must. Same for some of the other habits I built. You'll see that once you've built the foundation you'll slip right back into it when you want to. And some of the ones I didn't get around to I will do this year 🎉🎉 Good luck on your journey! Will definitely be checking in cause I need me some more selfcompassion too haha. And props for the beautiful artwork as always 😍

Excellent video 🥰 may I suggest yin yoga on KZbin for when you're on your period, I found it helpful in that it's basically a long gentle stretch (so still moving the body) but also feels like a nap 😂 just an idea. Maybe you can be my accountability buddy!! For January I'm focusing on getting back into running, potentially a very short run everyday.. I'm very impressed with your crochet. I knit but am not very good at crochet.. looking forward to the monthly vlogs 😊 Xx

I tried it and love it! thank you so much for the recommendation. it was super relaxing and even helped with cramps. how did your January goals go? i find knitting so hard, but i've heard people prefer doing one more than the other, maybe it's whichever you learn first. my mum always did crochet, but it took me years to finally get my head around it😊

@@nataliebyrne I'm so glad you liked it!! I've found it to be a great help. Excellent before bed! They went ok thank you, not quite as well as planned as anxiety hit me in the face!! But I stuck with doing something every other day whether that is a 10 min HIIT session, yin yoga, stretches, weights or a run.. That's so funny because I find crochet so so hard and I watch others do it almost in the dark!! Maybe I just need to keep practicing :) xx
