So far the best Hotel I've stayed at in the PH is Okada. It's basically a small city inside a hotel.

Did you tip the attendant when he brought you the cake and the champagne? Is it more appropriate to tip your housekeeping and the special amenities staff at the end of your trip or throughout? Looks like an amazing hotel, nice video.

It really depends on you. Given that we stayed there for multiple days it's easier to do at the end. If it's a overnight stay and you know you'll only have one or two encounters with the staff you can do it right then and there.

I wish to point out an error in your clip. This lounge is only reserved for Star Alliance international first and business class passengers, your Star Alliance status will not get you in.

Yes, that is correct for their flights 3 months ago, but now there are 2 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flights out of LAX for Hawaiian airlines. One leaves at 8:30AM, and the other leaves at 10:30AM.

@@simplyscotted bro, i wish i spent all 9 days there. i was in Bohol the first 5. the people at the resort are so professional, i made so m any friends took so many pictures with the staff. i want to go back so bad. i bought 30k pesos from the website at a discounted rate compared to full price, it was like 124 bucks @ 10k pesos so i did 30k to my room and i literally used every penny down to the wire correctly. i could go on and go on about it man so much more came from it too. my mind is still there, cant stop thinking bout it

@@cchang914 I didn’t upgrade, I just used reward points to cover the cost. I transferred my AMEX points to aeroplan. I was able to get a transfer rate at 4.5 cents per point. If I fly I usually don’t pay.

The Shangri-La at the Fort has 576 guest rooms and suites spread over 61 floors. While the exact number of rooms per floor may vary slightly depending on the layout, suite placements, and amenities, an average estimation can be calculated. Assuming a rough distribution, dividing 576 rooms by 61 floors gives approximately 9-10 rooms per floor on average. However, this can differ for certain floors dedicated to suites, event spaces, or other amenities.

Thanks for the great review. One correction at the very beginning. Status does NOT get you into the Polaris Lounge. You can only get in if you are flying United Polaris or another Star Alliance in First or Business class. Also, agree that the restaurant and the buffet are both free, so no charge for anything unless you'd like to leave a tip at the restaurant or bar. I've only been in the SFO Polaris lounge once, later in the evening, and it was quite crowded due to so many overseas flight inbound and outbound at that time of day, so we didn't eat in the restaurant either, but I have used the restaurant in both EWR and IAD and the food was excellent.

Except try saying something critically bad about some of the other countries leaders, royal families or government. Don't worry, we are slowly becoming as restrictive as the other countries but at least the founders gave us a fighting chance.

Nah just the peanut butter selection in America is enough to prove it to me. No where else on earth do you have as many choices as in the States. We definitely ain't perfect and shit has gone down hill recently, but there's no where as awesome over all... Greater than the sum of it's parts.

Keep in mind, upgrade and early check-in is not guaranteed. If you want a specific room category, especially during a busy period, book what you want to be in instead of relying on the upgrade you might not get. $100 credit can also be only applied to one of spa or dining at certain places. Others can be a general property credit. The 4pm checkout and breakfast credit for 2 is worth it though.

Very true, always read the fine print, I've fortunately never encountered any issues with upgrades, check-in/check-out, or $100 credits. But I also travel in Asia where these programs are less saturated.
