I managed to find a NOS (new old stock) Eastman SB59-GD gold top and ordered it today, so it will be my 4th Eastman. Never thought I’d buy one, let alone 4, but they are such incredible guitars. I definitely understand the comparison between them and Gibson Custom Shop rather than Gibson USA, although I love my Gibson USA guitars, too. Maybe someday, I’ll sell a few of them and break down and buy a Custom Shop, but I need to focus on learning to play better for now. 😊

I have 8 Gibsons (all USA and no Custom Shop) and this week got my third Eastman (2 SB59’s and a T-484). I love both brands and if forced to only have one it would be a Gibson, but not necessarily because it’s better. 😊

My favorite Tele copy was an Austin. BUT, every other one I tried like it either didn't feel near as good or had the wrong pickups for a Tele. Guess somebody had a good day at work when they built mine and found the perfect tree to make it from 😃

I take it that the switch is just bridge to neck as you never used the middle position!

Just got a SE P20E the other day and switched the strings to a slightly lighter gauge. Had no problem pulling the bridge pins with the cheap plastic thicker winder end made for that job. I just had to do it in two pulls. The puller was too straight to bring the pin high enough to take out so I laid a pencil by the pin and used that as a raised pivot for the puller to finish the job. other than that it was a piece of cake, definitely chocolate layer with lots of icing.

I’d love to see and hear your review on a Northfield FS5 mandolin. I’ve owned one since 2017, and I’ve been very happy with it. I don’t know if you’ve already reviewed one, so please forgive me if you already have. The Loar LM700 is also a great mandolin, I really enjoyed this review.

These were reissued after I emailed Gibson several times suggesting it. A year later they came out and I felt that Gibson undervalued them and sold them off cheaply. I also suggested the 3-a side headstock like the 70's Crestwood reissue because it looks nicer and would have sold better. P.S. They never even said thank you.

A while ago I had my Low e string break off the side of the nut because of the intense pressure being put on it. It seems like something common but I can’t find any instances of it happening to other people

I bought this guitar and I definitely see what you mean about the sound. Not the best for recording the sound is flat compared to a lot of other really powerful acoustics. I bought a $200 Ibanez for my brother the Same it sounds more vibrant than this one.

I see the same problem with cheap violins. Even a good one, I had a friend bring in a $1200 (in 2009) fiddle, and I must have taken over a quarter inch off the bridge to get it to play without slashing the fingers

I love my La Voce guitar, it’s the fine playing guitar. I think there’s sometimes too many options for me to remember so I just use a few but the neck I love. I love the action. It’s a good guitar to play fast. It’s a great lead guitar and it looks cool and it doesn’t weigh something like20 pounds. Very cool. Looks great no complaints. I’ve had it for as long as I’ve been out. I’m a sucker for a good looking guitar.
