I rooted so much for them, but at the end of the first movie, when Alex appears in the real world 20 years older and with a family, it felt bittersweet, like everything was okay. But in the second movie, I felt that Alex and Bethany have repressed feelings for each other. It’s as if they know they can’t admit it due to the circumstances, but they still haven’t managed to get over the fact that they never had a chance to be together in the real world.

What I think would be an interesting twist for a fourth jumanji movie would be a recall to the first one plot wise. Have the avatars come out of the game to the real world, just like in the original movie, that way the actors who play the avatars can have one last performance where they play the characters differently, this time play them as their bios says they are designed. Maybe bring back Peter and Judy. Unfortunately Alan can come back (rip Robin Williams). But it would be nice to see them tie all the films together in one big finale.
