@monsterlogostudios19 күн бұрын
Yes, sir. You'll probably want to use the MIDI Control Center that came with the MiniLab mk3 to configure the MIDI messages to suit your needs, but they would definitely pair well together.

Can you trigger PO effects via midi using the Digitakt?
@monsterlogostudiosАй бұрын
Yessir, you would just need to send two midi notes - one for the FX button itself, and another for the effect you want to use. The only thing you can’t control are the two A and B knobs.

How can one get an omx-27 if no soldering experience? We’re just excluded?
@monsterlogostudios6 ай бұрын
I really don't think the intent is to exclude anyone. I corresponded with the creator quite a bit when I ordered mine and he really cares about the customer experience. Also, now that the LEDs come pre-soldered (or so I've heard), this is a fairly simple project and a great first for anyone looking to learn - through-hole component soldering isn't the hardest and is a lot more forgiving than SMD. That said, you should reach-out on the contact page (denki-oto.weebly.com/contact.html#/) and see if he'd be willing to sell you a pre-made unit. If not, I might even be willing to help out if you purchased a unit and had it shipped direct to me. Reach out on my website and let's talk about options: monsterlogostudios.com/

Love this. I am new the m8 and I love ambient music so I've been looking at ways to do it. This def gives me a lot of ideas. Just to make sure I understand the set up correctly, the midi out of m8 goes to the Prismatic Spray and the audio comes back to the m8 through the audio in, correct? How does Hypersynth fit in to this setup? Do you think this kind of a setup where an external pedal/instrument like the Prismatic Spray or Macrocosm Hologram is the best way to create ambient music or can it be done internally in the m8 as well?
@monsterlogostudios10 ай бұрын
Thank you! You're correct about the routing. I have instrument 4 setup as a MIDI Out instrument on Channel 2 but routed to the Internal Port 03. In the actual Phrase, I'm playing a random note on Instrument 4, but in midi settings I have MIDI Channel 2 being routed to Instruments 01 and 05. Instrument 01 is the Hypersynth, instrument 05 is the 'external instrument' that is sending MIDI to the Prismatic Spray and receiving the audio on the Stereo Line-Input. This setup allows the same randomly generated note from MIDI instrument 4 to keep the Hypersynth and Prismatic Spray 'in tune' with one another. The M8 is great at ambient by itself. The best way is def the way that's most accessible and inspiring for you. Wiring up something as complicated as this is totally unnecessary, but it scratches a particular itch for me and it was a fun way to explore some of these new features when they were initially released.
@ohm8n10 ай бұрын

This was a bit of a relevation for me - the pitching up/down while preserving the length isn't something I'd thought to try! Thanks. I think the general principle for how the timestretching works here is the same as on the Digitakt - is that your understanding too?
@monsterlogostudios10 ай бұрын
Yes…or it was prior to the 1.5 update. With v1.5 introduced earlier this year, there are now dedicated Werp and Repitch machines for time stretching and pitch effects on the Digitakt.
@rorz99910 ай бұрын
@@monsterlogostudioscheers. From what I understand of werp though, is that it basically just does this, rather than it being a new time-stretching algorithm. I could be wrong though!
@monsterlogostudios10 ай бұрын
@rorz999 likely correct. Having a “machine” just eliminates the hassle of setting it up. Much easier to use now.

Hey ! Are you sure about loading 32 bits samples on the SD card ? Actually I just load 24 bits samples on mine and the manual say it’s only possible to load 8,16 or 24 bits samples. For direct sampling you’re right, it’s 16 bits.

I agree with your final assessment. Holding the buttons to adjust parameters as well starts to really dig into the fingers. I’m hoping someone figures out a good 3d printed case with buttons for it. The encoder is a bit finicky. I know Ivo has done some tuning to it so make sure you have the latest update. That being said I did contact him a couple days ago and it sounds like he is planning on tweaking it more. I’m hoping to get him a video of the behaviors I’m seeing. As far as the learning curve….yeah it definitely has one of those. I’ve spent way too much time in the documentation. The woovebox does so much. I have to wonder how something like the m8 tracker compares when it comes to learning curve. Great video and demos. Hope to see more from you.
@vangoghsseveredear9 ай бұрын
Don't have a woovebox, but I do have an M8. Learning curve with the M8 I think entirely depends how experienced you are with trackers. It can do a lot, but it does it all in such a unique way, the learning curve can be massive. You can still make music fairly quickly, but sometimes getting specific things you want can be tricky
@mrfork9 ай бұрын
@@vangoghsseveredear Agreed and that makes a lot of sense. I’ve almost ordered the M8 a couple times now when it’s available but gaining enough mastery on it to translate what I hear into what plays seems like it might be a bit of a time commitment. It sounds so amazing though that I may have to do it anyway.
@monsterlogostudios9 ай бұрын
