4:33 the way I overcame this issue was I put the first stickers from the top: Jan - Jun and then from the bottom up Dec - July and it left a nice gap right in the middle of the insert, exactly where the elastic lays

I have to say that I admire anyone who has the discipline to journal. Last year I tried it, falling in love with the idea of it, & the traveller’s notebook. Unfortunately, it only took 3 weeks to fall (rather quickly, & decisively) out of love of it. I still have both sized covers, bought a way too many inserts, & other Travelers items. Live & learn, I guess. I still admire you guys keeping up this hobby…lifestyle…whatever you call it.

@@StationeryAt4 Yes I'd be interested to know how you like it! I also dipped my toes into stoicism via Ryan Holiday before reading Meditations and Epictitus's Handbook. Both of which I still return to, and even plan to do full rereads of. When reading the original texts it's nice to have some of the context that Ryan applies, but also more freedom of interpretation, compared to say something like Daily Stoic (which I enjoy, but they're just two different experiences). I still have lots of stoic works that I haven't gotten into yet on my bookshelf, who knows what the new year holds. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Frank !

Wow, I just stumbled upon your video after finding a Kaweco Brass Sport at a thrift store for basically pocket change! It didn’t have a cartridge, and I picked it up just because it looked cool. After learning more from your video, I realized I might’ve hit the jackpot! I used some silver polish to bring back its original shine, and now it looks practically brand new. I’m heading out to get some ink cartridges next so I can finally try it out. I’m really loving the weight and feel of it-thanks for all the info!

Lovely pen! May I ask, have you ever used Carbon Platinum or any other pigment based inks in avanishing point? I just purchased my first one (Decimo Fine nib) but am wondering if I can use this ink as it is the only one I use in my Kawwecos and Lamys for sketching and journaling as it is more resistant to water and fading. Thank you!
@StationeryAt423 күн бұрын
Hi there! I haven't tried a carbon platinum in the VP. I have it in my Kaweco brass sport and it's an amazing ink however it does leave a sticky residue/stain on the nib that needs a bit of extra attention if swapping out inks. For pigment based ink, on my vanishing point I use a Kakimori pigment ink kakimori.com/en/products/k21kbk3506-2 It's fantastic in the VP and I've had no issues so far other. I hope that helps! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I've had an expedition for decades with that nylon type band. I never noticed the wear on the end but examining it now, for sure it's worn of course. Leather I think would be a nicer alternative and would wear like our TN's. Plus you can condition the leather. One thing I'll add when I wore my watch daily for weeks, months, years is that the nylon absorbed everything-sweat, dirt, whatever. I had to occasionally give it a soak and use an old toothbrush to get it clean. Mildly annoying.
