I used to ride across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel going home to Newark,DE on Friday afternoon for weekend liberty from my very first ship in the Navy that was homeported in Norfolk,VA & on late Sunday nights/early Monday mornings back to Norfolk either riding with a few of my shipmates that carpooled to Philadelphia or would ride the servicemen’s Friday Greyhound Express bus that was going to either Philadelphia or New York City. The bus would only stop in Salisbury,MD for a quick snack at H&J drive in and at Clemente’s bus terminal in New Castle,DE. I always liked riding across the Chesapeake Bay.
