I always forget that it’s not just guitarists doing improv over this, and man I love the fact that music can change so much. A backing track brings so much life!

Let’s say you can play the 5 CAGED positions of E Minor Pentatonic (1-b3-4-5-b7). Do these 2 things: 1) slide that b3 up to 3, so now you’ve got 1-b3/3-4-5-b7; 2) play that new scale in 3 keys E-A-B. Work it out in just one position so you can switch to those 3 keys with that new scale before moving to the next of the 5 CAGED positions. - You should eventually be able to play E7-A7-B7 (those 3 chords) in 5 different places on the neck without moving out of that position to get all 3 Dominant 7 chords (1-3-5-b7) AND that new scale. Once you can do that then start adding in b5-6-2 (in that order) all over the neck in those 3 different keys. - This is 1-2-b3/3-4-b5-5-6-b7 which can be seen as Mixolydian combined with the Blues scale OR as Major Pentatonic combined with the Blues scale. So that new scale, in the keys of EAB, in the 5 CAGED positions all over the neck. - As you’re jamming for hours, constantly be thinking about letters and numbers of notes (like G#, major 3rd of E, out of the C-shaped E7 position between frets 5-7). Off you go!

Very cool backing track - I love the tempo - I did a slow blues in A jam track that's a similar tempo you can check out here kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGOpkKd9fqqWgNEsi=6UnQ1amW9t0ZBoU4. I especially love the keys with this and the mix - it's cool you've got the bass up in the mix - really good for playing along with. Thanks for sharing - Jam On!
