Thanks for posting this, totally fascinating. It takes some patience to listen to it all the way through, but it’s very cool and I’m sure this would be a great interest to short wave radio people as well people into anything telephone. In case anyone reads this, I have been calling the phone number for the Mojave Phone Booth and it goes through to a conference call, I was able to get on a couple of conference lines that were open, but there was no one else talking or listening. Perhaps someone can recommend specific times of day when I’m more likely to find someone on that chat line? if I win the Italian lottery, I will start placing phantom phone booths all across the country that people can use and connect through phone lines to talk to people all over the world

Interesting that they send their own kind of “interval signal” out over the sidebands. SDR is very interesting, but I don’t have one. Still very interesting though as I like to find pirates like this all over shortwave!

Fun fact, the advice to set your video resolution to 1080p for best audio has not applied to KZbin for a while. KZbin streams audio separately from the video and almost always prefers the 128kbps stream regardless of resolution. It only switches to the lower audio bitrates if you dig into the KZbin settings and enable Data Saver mode.

This is fantastic!! I wonder if this is "The Radio Animal" from back perhaps 30 years ago? He was a wonderful young man when I knew him back then. Very technically astute, and an unusual delivery that made the programs he produced stand out. I lost track of him in the mid 90s.

Appreciate hearing some of your entries on KZbin. I like to search for pirate radio stations across the bands. 73 and have a great evening. As I’m listening to this I am outside in my shack listening to the SW bands.

It is so great that there are still at least 5-6 pirate greek stations on MW at any given time. Some of them still having a radio station jingle like "Studio 13" or "Studio king" etc. Most of them playing folk music and very old greek songs. I need to start logging them as they are fairly consisted with their broadcasting schedule and frequency.

Always good to hear from something very interesting and uncommon here in the part of the world where I am in. I’ll have to check this one out.
