I remember seeing Overkill do their Dead Boys cover live back when I was a total metalhead and had no clue who the Dead Boys were. Now I've not listened to them in years but love the Dead Boys.

@@Timmy_D overkill's "taking over", was the first CD I ever bought. Yes, we go through the metal phase only later to strip it back and get into punk.

@@SuppressioHibernicis I believe Taking Over was also one of the first CDs I ever bought although I already had ( and still have) the vinyl. I've seen them a bunch of times up thru the hello from the gutter era. Last saw them in Milwaukee a few years ago. I went to see DEATH ANGEL with Overkill and was not really impressed by them any longer. In fairness, few bands can follow Death Angel or maybe it was just me.

@@Timmy_D good times!! Ah no way!!! You got to see them live I've always wanted to. They've come here to Ireland a couple of times but because I'm so out of the loop metal-wise, I completely missed them. One of those times was Overkill actually supporting Trivium, so completely missed that, as I would not be looking out for trivium at all. I saw Death Angel in Dublin in 2004. Great gig.
