I recommend leaving your cigars in their cello's or tubos even in my humidor. My favorite storage is a glass jar by Ball or Bormioli etc with a hinged lid and airtight gasket. I can throw a small 60g boveda pack inside a cedar wood boveda holder in the jar and it will stay perfect for many months. I do not smoke often so I like 65% humidity packs since they are in there for a while. but that is my best advice. Those traditional cedar wood humidors are like fish tanks you got to monitor them every day. I have only one wood humidor that I keep just to make my life more difficult than it needs to be.

If it’s just household white mold, i just dust mine off, cut off the foot until there isnt any internally and smoke it. If I get any spores that isn’t heated off during toasting or smoking, I havent noticed any health effects in the 10 years I’ve been smoking. And that’s longer than most scientific health studies. Yes spores can and do survive high heat and even fire, but white household mold isn’t an issue for people with a healthy immune system. There’s more mold and spores in every other aspect of our lives (in our walls, carpets, attics, basements, garages, classrooms, fastfood chains, restaurants, etc) than there is in the occassional mold-afflicted cigar for me to worry about.

I'd question the fact you said the "original" owners bought it back ? I was in contact with the NEW company .... and they said they had no relationship with the old company ?? ( could be they refuse to HONOR the lifetime warranty of older models ) VERY disappointed since I spend about $130 on a model that is no longer repairable, and the "new" version is $200+

Well this is a relief. I had a shipment come in and my bundle has some mold on the feet. I’m glad to hear that in case they have poor customer service and won’t send a replacement, that i might be able to just clip them down and salvage.
