Hello! May I ask you? What kind of soil do you use? Thank you 😊

The potting soil I use has a low organic matter ratio and is excellent in drainage and breathability. This is because Japan experiences long periods of hot, humid summers. Potting soil that is rich in organic matter is more susceptible to the development of pests and diseases, and is especially prone to root rot. I supplement any missing nutrients with organic slow-release fertilizer. I don't think this would be useful in a different climate.

こんにちは 😊 Thank you for your reply. I only begin my first helleboruses in my garden not far from Moscow. We have very hard conditions to grow many plants. But I try to get it from Japan seeds. Japan lenten roses are wonderful! I love it ❤ You are happy to grow such a beauty

I think a potting soil rich in organic matter would be best for your area.
