Great review!Comfy without any body cuts? Weight? I cant play teles because of the edges on the body...

I have the same exact guitar and concur with the set up its been almost a year and the neck has not moved ....my Strats i have adjust almost every time I play them, which is not very much since i got the Rs. This is the first guitar I haven't felt the need to change anything. I have found uses for the focus switch but mostly i use the normal. I am going to buy the P-90 version as well, what a bargain both of them for less that I paid for my Clapton Strat. Nowadays i play this and my Telecaster thingy, I get the strats out and try to play them but im futzing with them all the time with the RevStar and the telly i just play ....

I got to try the Strirlin by Music Man version of this guitar as the music store didn't have the Music Man version. I'm not a tele fan and honestly, it wasn't perfect sound wise to me. BUT, it felt like no other guitar. It is the most comfortable and easy to play guitar I've ever had my hands on. I need this guitar now, I'll find a sound for it or do some DIY on it. But I was VERY impressed considering I'd never even heard of the guitarist that put his name to it.

I have only played an acoustic guitar for the past 10 years and was thinking of buying this one? Have never played an electric guitar before :) Do you recommend it?
@SethSilvaMusicАй бұрын
It really depends on what you’re looking for in an electric guitar. A semi-hollow might be better if you’re looking for something similar to an acoustic, but it honestly depends on personal preference and what types of music you want to play. This is a very good electric guitar for me, but I recommend you find a guitar store and try playing a few different electrics to see what you like the feel of. The best way to learn what’s best for you is to try as many different things as you can

Great demo with different amps and tones!!! I've tested the York Audio IR MES 212 V30-Limited pack with Quad Cortex, the difference with the QC cab sim block is huge! On the base of your video I've understood that KW 412 M25-SH is the right IR pack for me...thanks

John McFee of Doobie Brothers playing this at Pine Knob Thursday brought me here. Sounded great. Cool to see great artists using these inexpensive but very workable instruments live.

It would have been really cool to see a drumkit example in MIDI mode
@SethSilvaMusic2 ай бұрын
I did try that privately, and honestly thought it wasn’t very good when used that way so I didn’t include it. Maybe someone else can make it work, maybe it just doesn’t play nice with my drum software, but for me this is something that is better suited for melodic instruments. Even then, this still has some triggering issues due to being an audio-MIDI conversion rather than purely digital. A dedicated MIDI pad or keyboard is much better/more consistent for drums in my experience.

I've wanted one of these for a long time. I have and older H/S/S Pacifica, and 2 THR amps, so I'm a huge Yamaha fan. If a used one comes in at my local dealer, I'm snagging it right away - if I bond with it lol.
@SethSilvaMusic2 ай бұрын
Never tried the Pacifica myself, but I briefly had a THR and it sounded pretty good but unfortunately died within a few days and I had to return it. I definitely recommend the Revstar assuming they are as good or better than this one. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! I tried to film the pickup swap but A. Could not get a great camera angle and B. It took me WAY longer than it should’ve given how easy EMG’s solderless system is. As a result, I scrapped that footage so the video was watchable lol.
@frankhunt28002 ай бұрын
@SethSilvaMusic all good just wanted to do exact swap so it would have been really helpful
@SethSilvaMusic2 ай бұрын
I understand. I’m honestly pretty bad at guitar wiring, so if it’s any consolation, if I was able to do it, I’m sure you can too. EMG has a lot of wiring diagrams on their website and since everything is just plugs and terminals, it’s easy to fix if you end up plugging something in to the wrong spot.

Thrilled to come across this review. You’re right on the money. I have a 2016 LE Valentine in Starry Night, which I bought because I really wanted a Valentine but I struggle with pale wood fretboards aesthetically (the Starry Night series all have an ebony fretboard). TBH I have had some difficulty with the dimensions of the neck between the nut and the fourth/fifth fret - I have pretty big hands so I used to find it a bit cramped down there, but I play out more now and it is in a band context that the Valentine comes into its own. It sounds great for pretty much every song we do, it’s quiet, it stays in tune and it feels solid enough that if it comes to grief it’ll survive. Nothing else I take out to play does that, apart from my Reverend Airwave, but that’s a 12 string so there’s no comparison really. Great review.

Found a white PIA all the way in South America Colombia. Tucked away in a small guitar shop that's approved by Ibanez as a distributor. To my surprise it was about $1500 than where I live in North America. I still can't believe I own one. It wasn't an onyx but.. ill take it!

I think in the interest of fairness you should have made it clear the difference between the Jem Jr. model and the Jem 7VWH, which is a lot closer in comparison to the Pia. Having said that, great comparison video and some lovely tones.
@SethSilvaMusic3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you liked the tones. Just for clarification: The guitar in the video is the JEM7VP, not the JEM Jr. The VP is the Ibanez Premium version and at the time of filming, and now as well, is/was the only in-production version of the JEM currently available new here in the US with the classic JEM white/gold aesthetic and Dimarzio pickups. From my understanding, the Jr. is a budget version of the JEM with chrome hardware and lesser quality woods/hardware, whereas the VP is essentially the same as the now discontinued Prestige JEM minus the scalloped upper frets and made in Indonesia to save in production costs.
