My question is... why are gut issues suddenly so rampant these days? IBS et al was not this common 20 years ago, and I doubt it was just that folks were modest and under-reporting. In my own household 30 years ago, no gut issues. Now everyone has gut issues. In my dorm building 20-odd years ago, one person had (bathroom-obliterating) gut issues. And now, so many in my circle and out either have IBS, IBD or some kind of dysbiosis. What gives? TF is in the air/water/food?

I increased my venlaflaxine antidepressant dose about 3 weeks ago. I started a probiotic (100 billion CFU) a week later. After I started the probiotic I started feeling HORRIBLE. Anxiety, panic attacks, and brain fog kicked in, sleep issues, diarrhea daily. I stopped the probiotics 2 days ago... Already feeling better. Today is the first day in 2 weeks with no diarrhea, and no horrible anxiety upon waking. I guess high doses are NOT always better. 😔

Probiotics make me break out. As soon as I take a probiotic or take something with “cultures” I get a cystic zit. Which is so weird because they say that probiotics help acne. And I should mention I’m on a plant based diet! Mostly raw!!! So it’s really obvious it’s the probiotcs makes me break out-I’m baffled. I don’t know why introducing good bacteria would make me break out? I think yeah your onto something I think my microbiome is so out of balance it literally can’t handle the probiotics. Which is weird I would think it would help. I’m thinking yeah, the gut is compromised...and maybe the bacteria from the probiotic aren’t staying in the gut where they are supposed to? Idk?

Hello doctor , I bought probiotic 55 billion 9 strains and took one pill on 8/2/2022 until this moment 1/3/2022 (20 days) my life turned upside down . I did not have a problem but I bought it as I heard that it is good for health and unfortunately I bought the highest cfu . Due to probiotic I am now suffering from gas , bloating , nausea , abdominal cramps and SEVERE constipation . all the people around me do not believe me as I took only one pill I even went to a doctor and he prescribed for me rifaximin antibiotic but nothing changed so I started taking metronidazole with it everyday still I am still suffering . I am so glad that I found your video after all . Can you please help me ? What should I do doctor to get rid of these probiotics I am in severe pain and discomfort for 20 days and the problem is that everyday it is getting more worse . I am waiting for your reply . Thank you .

I think isolated probiotic bacteria doesn't solve the problem. I'm in favor with natural probiotic foods with the right compounds of bacteria, metabolites and secondary substances that all play together in order for the probiotics to work.

Hi Cooper, thanks for watching. You may have missed the intro video for my channel and what it’s actually about. I have been a conventional medical doctor and specialist anaesthesiologist for 14 years. But I saw where modern medicine was lacking and mostly focussed on an illness and pharmaceutical model. So I have studied various “alternative” or holistic health and wellness practices that have been around a lot longer than modern medicine. There is a place for all of it in my opinion and I’m helping people bring both those worlds together to empower themselves on their own health journey. I hope you manage to find the type of content you are searching for on other channels. All the best!

Thank you for your video, very helpful. I am a Pitta/Vata. Can a Vata be overweight or is that a Pitta imbalance? I cannot do IF. I've tried and keep failing. I am like you I can only do an overnight fast.
@humandesign.beyond20273 жыл бұрын
If a Vata is in balance they generally struggle to put on weight or become overweight. There are many other emotional, hormonal and energetic reasons for weight gain beyond the out-dated ideas of input vs output. I do 2 fasting days when I detox. I have nutritional support from an all in one detox mix with water that I drink 4 times a day over the 2 days. That method works well for me. Fasting doesn’t have to always mean having absolutely nothing. If you are sticking with an overnight fast of 12-14 hours, that’s really great! It’s a complicated topic and like most things in Health and wellness, should be individualised.

So, there’s no possible chance that probiotics are HELPING someone to heal and seal their gut? You’re claiming that 100% of people who take probiotics before/during healing their gut are going to get worse from the probiotics? That’s interesting, because I definitely have dysbiosis and leaky gut, all sorts of digestive symptoms, energy issues - but when I take probiotics regularly every day I feel way better, with way fewer digestive issues. I take a sufficient lacto/bifido probiotic, a sufficient SBO probiotic, and a good quantity of S. boulardii. All 3 of them at the same time, two to three times per day. When I stop taking them, digestion gets much much worse, symptoms out of control. Also, it seems everyone is parroting the same “diversity is always best” sentiment these days. I’m not entirely convinced that making such a blanket statement is wise. Maybe not every single person would achieve their best health by trying to eat such a super diverse range of foods and fibers. And only because this phrase is being thrown around by nearly everything right now. Maybe some people will do better paring down their food range and keeping things simple. Careful with the blanket statements. This is not one-size-fits-all subject matter. Quite literally the opposite. 8 billion humans, 8 billion unique microbiomes.
@humandesign.beyond20273 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and sharing your story. It’s great you find relief using probiotics! They are great and help a lot of people. At no point in the video do I make a blanket statement that people shouldn’t take probiotics for gut health. I was mostly addressing those who do not get relief when they use them and explaining some possibilities of why that might be the case for them. Because I totally agree, there is no one correct solution for everyone. In these videos I try to address areas that may be unclear for people on big health and wellness topics. Also, in a healthy, balanced body a diverse diet is always best. When the system is not optimal due to whatever reason, the tolerance to diversity does decline. We see it expressed in food intolerances, dysbiosis, irritable bowel, eczema etc. It’s more about whether we want bandaid solutions to manage symptoms or we want to fix and understand the underlying, multi factorial causes of dis-ease in the body.

Lentils, Black beans, and many more foods and I have never had one issue. You all have many other issues and blame it on things that you have no idea what you are talking about. thanks for this. I'm vata dominant and do 16-8 IF most days. I'd like to do multi-day fasts every few months just for 'cellular clean up' and because I do eat meat, but like you said, it's hard to do even a full day fast without having all those vata tendencies ramped up (and worse, in winter). Is there some caloric maximum or nutrient guidelines for what shakes/supplements you can take and still get the benefits of a multi-day fast? So many of those supplements have strange additives and sugars...

Hey Jennifer! Thanks so much for checking out my video and asking such a great question. I highly recommend and use myself, the 7 Day Detox program from EquiLife. It’s been expertly formulated by Dr Stephen Cabral (one of my teachers and mentors in the Intergrative Health world), it is super clean and incorporates 2 fasting days fully supported with shakes and natural supplements. It’s the best out there! You can check out my 7 Day Detox series of videos on my channel (they are the first ones I made) to step you through what the program looks like. I also do one on one coaching support and 8 week programs if you want to reach out for something more personalised for your health journey. As a vata myself, I have found the 2 consecutive fasting days on the EquiLife program to be very achievable and powerful.

Well, spinach has one of the highest oxalate concentrations of all foods, around 1.000 mg per 100 g. So even when you cook the spinach and reduce the oxalate content by 75% (only if you get rid of the cooking water, of course), you are still above the recommended amount of around 50 mg per day - and nobody consumes just 100 g spinach in one setting. I ate cooked spinach almost daily. It gave me several kidney stones. Never again!

I had H-Pylori and treated it with triple therapy(2 antibiotics &1 PPI). Then I started to take a probiotic immediately after I finished my H-Pylori infection. At the moment I occasionally get "foggy brain/confusion and fatigue". Do you believe that the symptoms I am feeling could be from taking the probiotic??
@humandesign.beyond20273 жыл бұрын
Very unlikely! But it may not be sufficient. Treating the H Pylori is great but you have probably knocked over a lot of your healthy microbiome in the process. It will take time to rebalance. Take a good probiotic, add lots of prebiotic and fermented foods to your diet and eat a variety of foods to replenish and rebalance. The foggy brain confusion and fatigue could be a sign you would benefit from a detox. I recommend the Dr Cabral Detox as a fantastic product.

@@humandesign.beyond2027 Just to give you an update on my condition. I just found out that I eradicated the H-Pylori with the triple therapy. I also stopped using a probiotic. My fatigue is beginning to go away and my brain fog is clearing up! What are your thoughts?

You should take probiotics during and after H-pylori treatment. Studies showed that natural probiotics like milk-kefir increased the success-rate of treatment when you take it with antibiotics.
