I bought my home in 2019 in the piedmont area right around the street from Woodmont high school. I purchased at a great time because my home is valued at 100k more than I paid. I grew up in Greer SC.

I heard Greenville is dog friendly,but there's only one dog park you can go to to let your dog loose,Conesstee park,so we need more dog parks
@DeLisleProperties26 күн бұрын
@@rocker8692 I think it would be great if we had more large parks where they can be off leash! I’ve also heard Edgewood Bark Park and Pelham Mill have off leash areas, though I haven’t been. But beyond that Greenville is suuuper dog friendly. Some restaurants downtown even have dog menus! And pretty much everywhere downtown has dog treats and water bowls outside their door.

What is the lifestyle like in Greenville? I know it’s pretty religious, but I’m not. Will I be shunned for not going to church ?
@DeLislePropertiesАй бұрын
Hey Susan! Great question. You will absolutely not be shunned for not going to church. On the surface it may seem like this area is deeply religious, but there are many people in the area that don't go to church as well. I have many friends who aren't religious and they don't find themselves isolated. However, you'll likely see some religious bumper stickers and signs here and there.

@ Thank you for getting back to me. It’s nice to read this because the last thing I want to do is to move somewhere where I’m not welcomed. I’m very respectful of other people’s religious beliefs and lifestyles, so I hope to have the same. 😊

Helpful video! Can you describe the allergy seasons in Greenville and do they bother you? thanks.
@DeLisleProperties2 ай бұрын
I can only speak from personal experience, but I will say allergy season can be a rough here. Not bad enough to outweigh the pros of living here, but it is something to prepare for! I find that as long as I start taking Allegra before the season gets into full swing I'm alright. There's maybe a period of a couple of weeks where if I don't take medicine my eyes feel very puffy. I also have friends who are sensitive to ragweed that say their allergies will act up briefly at the beginning of fall. But again, most people find that over the counter allergy meds keep their symptoms in check for the most part.

It's getting expensive here. It's no longer affordable
@DeLisleProperties3 ай бұрын
It's definitely gotten more expensive over time, but like we said in the video, we're generally much more affordable than the national average, which is honestly shocking considering how many amenities Greenville has to offer.

How expensive has it become compared to the state of NY. I live in Queens and am thinking of moving to SC.
@DeLisleProperties2 ай бұрын
@@JOCVILLAMAN I can assure you it is MUCH more affordable than Queens! Looking at broad numbers, New York City's Cost of living is about 71% higher than in Greenville. This is including rent.

While Travelers Rest has many pros, Travelers Rest is often touted as being a great small town with a small-town vibe, but there is simply no way the downtown section of TR can truly be "restful" and have a small-town vibe with a busy, noisy, four-lane road going through the middle of it. Not to mention an obvious lack of trees planted all along the roadway and not just in short sections. I am unsure why this is not super obvious to the town planners and the realtors touting Travelers Rest as some kind of idyllic small town. Makes no sense. Instead, be honest about it and fix the problem. It could be a great small-town community if the town did address this very obvious noise/traffic issue and made Travelers Rest more walkable and less vehicular friendly.

The fed rate is not 6.5%. That may be where you can get a mortgage product but it’s not the federal fund rate. The federal fund rate is at 4.3%. The fed will most likely increase just a tiny bit next year. When it comes to this fed tool it’s more about how long they keep the rate high than how much they increase it to. Increasing the fed rate is literally designed to hurt the markets. They are trying to slow it down without crashing it. However, I believe we are in for a bit of a recession in 2023. As to your point about appreciation trending down from 20% to 9%, I think that’s not really the way to look at it. With the market turn values are going down not up. Saying we went up 9% this year makes people think that they are in for a 9% increase in values in 2023. That’s unlikely and not the full picture. More than likely we will be in the red for real estate values in 2023. Having said that, I’m a Realtor in Salt Lake so I don’t know your market specifically but the story is pretty similar nationwide.
@KirlyGirl982 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for this comment! We really love the engagement. Our market is definitely different from Salt Lake so that is probably where those discrepancies lie, we can assure you the information we shared was accurate at the time of reporting. But we also only had four minutes to touch on a very complex topic, so of course we didn’t get a chance to touch on the nuances. Thank you again for your feedback, it’s much appreciated!

It has the perfect feeling. Don't exaggerate either. It's not too slow or too fast. It's not a town like 70,000 people make it out to be. Greenville is a medium-sized city.
