I just recently picked up a helmet shell conch and was wondering if you could tell me the size of your shell to compare size to sound?
@jamaniduo
@jamaniduo 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question! The shell I'm using in the video here has a "diameter" (the side that I blow into) of approximately 9-10" and is around 11" long. If you want to compare, check out kzbin.info/www/bejne/on2ZoIqMh759jMU. The shell I use in that piece is smaller and higher in pitch: about 6-7" in diameter and about 8-9" long. Hope that helps!

Yes, this piece is epic! When you listen to the album as a whole, this is the penultimate track. We see it as the big climax to the whole album. Check out some of Gene Koshinski's other compositions on KZbin; he does amazingly creative work on all kinds of percussion instruments. Thanks for listening!

I think the synchronized arm movements between about 8:47 and 8:58 seems a bit awkward. I still really like this recording.
