Things have really changed. Went we did this stuff the only instructions we got was “10 foot off the water release the capewells, arms in and point your toes”. There were no boats to pick you up and you were warned not to drop to close to the shore as the water would be shallow and you would likely break your legs. One boat was sent out to get the chutes! This was in the UK not the States.

Sometimes you dont know who what or why youre fighting, nor agree with it, but youre signed up and cant run away and got to do your job and stand up for yourself and do whats got to be done. Even if it takes two to tango, sometimes damage limitation mode and containing a bad situation is all that can be done to even try to stop things escalating or getting too out of control if at all possible...

I live in in the south. We have a 45’000 acre lake that spans two states.Some of my neighbors and I have seen this happen more then once.Pretty cool to watch in person.We were around a half a mile and watched while we were fishing

It brought back memories, when I was in 1st Group my favorite jump was the water jump, wearing shorts, tea shirt, and carrying mask and fins, also it was easier landing than on the ground, good times, good times. Regards, Denis Berte' SFC 1st Group 18E (84-95)
