I played against cliff in an outdoor tournament in florida and his serve slides into the back where you can't hit it. first you have to guess where he is going then you have to hit a perfectly placed slide. He basically killed me.

I love racquetball and prefer it to squash but I can understand why people say it's boring. Whenever I jump to another section of the vid I am always catching the in-between parts so I timed it and found that they took at least twice as long to serve the ball as the rally took. It's very annoying to watch a player bounce the ball off the wall a half dozen times. It may help them to focus but it makes for a lousy spectator experience.

It sure seems Cliff violates drive serve box often from this camera angle. Top 1/4 racket over the plane?
@rbaddict2947 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I've seen him do it a lot in other exhibition matches. He didn't do it in his younger days so I know he knows the rules.

Kane is one of the greatest no doubt. But he questions so many calls and comes off as a whiner.

One of my favorite parts about this game is that they didn’t take 30 seconds between points for a whole ritual. It was so much more watchable that way.

what camera do you use? Is this inside the court mounted on the glass?
@jgothrbplayer7 жыл бұрын
jms493 just an iPhone on the outside of the glass using a gps holder with a suction cup. Falls from time to time as you can see. Not the best quality but captures what I need to get an idea of the movement and shot selection of a game.

jms493 he was in town working with cliff. He's trying to work on shots and not get hurt at the same time when we played. It's just practice no need for him to go all out, 60% effort is just fine. Not lazy though.

Jake has so much potential and you can see by looking at him he trains hard, I love watching him play. I think he has a bad injury from a dive I saw on vid when he played left handed after that. He is a gamer. The ultimate respect for Cliff is a given. I have followed his whole career. What would be his stats were it not for the pause and attempt at tennis? He is #2 all time in my book. Probably be #1 is he had Coach/Trainer Winterton in his corner too. It is about domination but also longevity.

Goth keeps stepping over the short line on his lob serves. This is a safety zone violation and should be a loss of serve.
@2bhyman8 жыл бұрын
+Brian Youngs well. I mean if he's stepping over the short line then goth would be in the service and I think it would be called. Unless you're talking about the encroachment line; then, you would be correct.

+Anwar Sadat Much respect too bad racquetball hasn't flourished like in the eighties. I was fortunate to have taken lessons back then from a hall of famer Tom Travers who said he even learned a great deal from Cliff mainly the drive serve almost never lob. He also said just by dropping the serve instead of tossing it forward was key.
@ts440s8 жыл бұрын
Watch when Cliff drops the serve he doesn't toss it forward he drops where he hits it making it more consistent think of it in tennis if you didn't have to toss the ball and just place it where you want it would be much more consistent.
@ts440s8 жыл бұрын
just drop the ball where you want to hit it, don't toss it forward or throw it down just let it drop out of you fingers.

This is my favorite camera angle to watch. If I could add one thing, it would be an iso-replay of the final shot of each rally, i.e. another camera pointed at the back corners, show the kill shot as the server's getting ready for the next serve.
