Did they Tiger-proof courses to stop Jack? Before Tiger no lefty had ever won Augusta. After, lefties won like 4 out of 5. That's how bad they wanted to stop Tiger, they turned the course from a right handed one to a left handed one. They literally planted trees wherever Tiger would hit his ball. Ill take him over anybody.

Did Jack when all 4 majors in a row? The fields were smaller and not as stacked. Nobody has had as dominant a run as Tiger, ever. Against tougher opponents, and more of them in tournaments. Jack is the 1b to Tigers 1a. If you’re only measuring greatness by majors wins, then you’re lost kiddo

It's fair to have these GOAT conversations, and all sides have valid points. But no one can argue that Tiger had the biggest impact on the game overall. He brought golf into the modern mainstream, opened the sport to the inner city youth, and increased the prize money for all the other pro golfers to benefit. He did for the PGA what Jordan did for the NBA.
@SasquatchTour17 күн бұрын
I'm glad you made the comparison with the NBA because just as Jordan spring boarded off what Magic and Larry did for the NBA, Tiger did off of what Arnold Palmer created. Palmer popularized golf with the blue collar crowd and allowed golf popularity to explode and pass on generational to the point where Palmer founded the Golf Channel to give Tiger Woods the media exposure and thanks to Palmers past popularity as a tour golfer, Tiger now had golf fans willing to watch when he burst onto the scene. Arnold Palmer literally brought golf to the mainstream through media and his popularity. Jordan and Woods took their sports to new heights but Palmer, Bird, and Johnson were far more influential to popularizing their sport. I know how the ratings dip or dropped when Tiger wasn't playing but without Palmer and the Golf Channel media coverage nobody would know or care who Tiger is.

Didn't even start the video. Just came here to call you a clickbait merchant. I doubt you believe Nicklaus 'KILLS' Woods at all. Woods is probably the most prodigious talent in the history of the sport and to imply Nicklaus is that far ahead of him should destroy any credibility you have.
@RARochester18 күн бұрын
The opinion that matters the most is Lee Trevino; he said if Tiger played in our time he'd beat us all; that's from a 6 time Major Champion. You're looking at just one metric which is majors; please, look at Faldo and how many majors he won compared to overall wins. Tiger is the GOAT with Jack a close second; a quote from Jack the bear himself about Tiger; " he plays a game of which I'm not familiar with "; this should tell you something so stop the nonsense.

@jaywalk444618 күн бұрын
Nicklaus was obviously amazing, but the competition was nowhere near what it was when tiger was playing. Realistically, Nicklaus had 4 or 5 others to beat, the others just weren't good enough. Tiger was up against dozens of possible winners. The general standard was just so much higher.
@Freefall-uj7cv17 күн бұрын
And, to be honest, you don't even have to use this argument. Tiger won 82 times on tour in 359 career starts. Jack won 73 times on 586 starts. So Tiger has a higher win percentage. Additionally, Jack's Major win percentage is .3% less than Tiger's (despite having 3 more than him all time). Tiger Woods is not #2, and I don't think Nicklaus is either. I think the only way to approach this conversation is just acknowledging the greatness of both, and regarding them as the two GOATs.

Don’t forget…Tiger won three straight US Junior Amateurs then won three straight US Amateurs. For six straight years, Tiger was the best amateur golfer in the world. In my opinion, the US Amateur is a major so they are tied.
@benny30617 күн бұрын
Your comment doesn't make any sense. How can Tiger be the best amateur in the world for 6 years when he won 3 US Juniors? The US Junior winner isn't the best amateur in the world. Also Jack won 2 US Amateurs so you have to count that if you're gonna count Tigers. In the end, Tiger is better, but your comment is still pretty stupid.
@jim825217 күн бұрын
@ Yeah…Tiger was actually the best amateur golfer in the world for three straight years. The fact that he won three straight junior amateurs and then three straight US amateurs,back to back, is pretty friggin incredible. I guarantee no one will ever do that again. I got carried away a little with the six years of being the best amateur golfer in the world. Obviously that’s not correct. Woods also won an NCAA title as well. I think one could make the argument that Woods is the greatest amateur player in modern time. Jack did win two US Amateurs so I guess we’re looking at a 20 to 18 advantage for Jack when it comes to major championships.

LOL... the 5th best guy in Jack's prime wouldn't even be Top 50 in Tiger's prime. And if Jack and Tiger played each played against each other, Tiger would be 25 yards further off of the tee. This isn't even close. If all things are equal, Tiger dominates Jack.

There is some mistakes in this video. That’s not her pointing to the sky in 2005. That’s Cheyenne Knight winning on tour after the tragic death of her brother, which happened sometime after 2019. Na Yeon Choi might be another mistake. There’s a few more that need to be corrected.
@stooger6882 ай бұрын
I don’t think there’s much here that is tragic. I met Paula in 2014 and followed her after that. She might have won the Australian Open that year with a bit of luck- she came 3rd. She won the next week in Thailand. She had a bit of a slump after that year, but nothing catastrophic. She worked really hard on her game. I think her putting deteriorated. And then her personal life took preference and she slipped from being truly competitive. It’s a big shame. But it seems awfully difficult to remain at or close to the top on the LPGA. Many girls have fallen away. The rewards aren’t really there if you’re outside of the top 50 or so. From what I could see, she had a ball on tour and always had a heart for her fans and everyone she met. It’d be great to see her come back. It’d be a long way back though.
