I like the headlights on the boxster 986 and 996.1. They replicate the headlights from the 911 GT1 race car of the era or the race car does of them. Part of Porsche history. Boxster's are underrated and can be picked up for not a lot of money. Bargain.

986S! Underrated. Lots can go wrong, but when they're right, they are fantastic. Do NOT buy these if you do not have time or money to maintain. It is still a Porsche.

Not a single mention of the dreaded IMS bearing?? There's even a load of blue smoke coming out of the engine compartment (not exhaust) on that pull at the end, lol... Do your due diligence folks before getting one of these..
@CarCultureClub2 күн бұрын
IMS is hyped up wayyyy more than it realistically should be. Talk to any Porsche specialist and they’ll tell you how rarely they actually go. The IMS on this car has also been done already, alongside the RMS.
@dre32pitt2 күн бұрын
@@CarCultureClub It happened to a 987.1 CS I owned... I sold it to a buddy and the IMS bearing let go during his first track day.. My Porsche specialist assured me that the IMS on that particular car was fine as it had 78k miles on it when I bought it (it had 90k when it let go).. Car was serviced at one of the best P-car shops in my area for the last 12 years (I had all records going back that far when I bought it).. So, it's not just hype.. especially when you see it happen in real time, lol.. Good shit that that's already done on this particular model.. blue smoke might be more of an indicator of bore-scoring now that I think about it.. I wont go back to P-cars unless it's for a 987.2 base (no IMS, no cylinder lining)

I picked up a 2.7 Boxster (non-S obviously) and I'm very much enjoying it. I have the "runny egg" headlights which I love...so much so, I wouldn't buy a boxster without them (maybe I'm weird, who knows). The only thing I don't love, is Fuel economy. I get 24-25mpg pretty much wherever I go. But overall, it is great. It does need a bunch of maintenance, and it's not a good car to buy if you're trying to save money on fuel and maintenance, but if you want top-down driving enjoyment at a reasonable price, this is a car worth looking at. Enjoyed your video, cheers.

Hope so I have. Have £850 for 58 plate 2.2 cdi AMG sport. Rocket, auto leather. Got it cheap coz brakes needed bleeding. 200,000 miles and runs like a Rolex. Like it so far. Trying not to blow turbo coz I can’t help boot it. So easy to drive too, my first auto. Paddle shift too. Not bad. Mines mapped to 200bhp too. Wish I could wheelsoin more with the auto that’s all. Any tips? It does spin but I want the back end hanging out lol. It’s got the power no bother.

These are indeed brilliant cars and are surely to start rising in value much like the Z3M coupe did. Although they really already have due to the limited production run. I've actually got the cheaper cousin, a 2006 Z4 3.0si coupe. As much as I love the M, it really is so stiffly sprung, and city/urban driving it's quite hard to deal with. The 3.0si coupe still gives you 265 horsepower with the brilliant n52. It actually has a better balance as well as this engine is a fair bit lighter as it has a magnesium block. And in all honesty, off the line the regular coupe actually feels quicker! You really don't get into the 'fun zone' on the M until you're high in the rev range. On a track the M will kill the 3.0, but in everyday driving, the 3.0 is a much nicer drive. I like to think of it as 80% of the fun at 60% of the cost of admission. Not to mention the fact that the cost of maintenance on these will probably be around 50% of the M! The n52 has proven to be bulletproof reliable... For a BMW! If the M is just too much (in a few way$!) - try to find the 3.0
@jeromef20014 күн бұрын
Really ??? You prefer the regular coupe ?? Incredible
@lancemannion41134 күн бұрын
@jeromef2001 i definitely wouldn't say i prefer it. The M was brilliant! On any track or speed event, the M is a lot more capable. But with rough/potholed roads, as a daily, it's just too stiff. And as far as stoplight quick, the 3.0si actually feels zippier. The bottom end is surprisingly strong....I found. On a roll/top end, it's not contest. But I really feel the price premium isn't worth the M (except collectibility, where the M will likely do what the Z3M clownshoe did $$$)
@jeromef20014 күн бұрын
@@lancemannion4113 interesting feedback. I also love the 3.0… But what do you mean in term of value? The Z4 m has already done what the Z3 has done in dollars. It is even more expensive as the clownshoe m :) I love them both actually. The Z3 coupe is wonderful too
@lancemannion41134 күн бұрын
@jeromef2001 well I guess I'm meaning relative to age, the z3m coupe used to be affordable. I bought mine at 12 years old for $16K Cdn. (approx. $12K US) in 2011. Now, the same car is $35-$40K up here. The z4m has never been below $25K up here - at best! They're selling now for about $40k so proportionately they haven't yet exploded like the z3m. But I do see them slowly creeping up to $50k+ for a clean, low mileage 6 speed. They have yet to plateau, IMHO, whereas the z3m I believe has. Unfortunately I can't see a 3.0si coupe getting more than $25k up here. But that will mean the 'base' z4 will sell for around half the M, which to me is solid value for what it is.
@jeromef20014 күн бұрын
@@lancemannion4113 yes the z4 3.0 is half the price the M right now… but if the M keep rising I am not sure the 3.0 will remain half the price. I see the M rising faster proportionally to the 3.0… But I think it is awesome we can now buy a regular 3.0 for 20000$ ! Best value for money car.

@drewqqq24 күн бұрын
How do you feel it compares to the Toyota 86 as a daily?
@CarCultureClub24 күн бұрын
The Fiesta is much more of a daily. It’s a quieter and more comfortable place to be, it’s got all the power you need, and is relatively practical for a hatchback. The 86 on the other hand, you could definitely daily, but don’t expect to have the same comfort and practicality. It’ll be louder, less comfortable (stiffer suspension setup) and definitely less practical. Looks better and is a RWD car that likes to get its ass out round corners though… so it’s a hell of a lot of fun 🤣
