I need to get back into the Puppet Master movies. I tried, but got distracted... A Nightmare on Elm St remake... eh, its got its moments, but mostly dull as dishwater. Ouch... The Nun 2? I really struggled with that one. I loved Diary, but Survival was just ok for me. Spiral isnt bad, its different from the rest of the Saw films, but thats the issue with long running franchises, the need to inject something new into it, but sometimes its too little too late. Plus, Chris Rock just seemed angry all the time in that one! Hahahaha! Great vid!
@mr.danandhorror42309 сағат бұрын
Dull is the perfect description! There’s no way I’d be watching all the Puppetmaster films in order if it wasn’t for this challenge - it’s been an experience. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on Saw X when I cover it next month as far as bringing freshness to the series. Thanks Ginja Ninja!

There is another film starring Yusaku Matsuda that was directed by Toru Murakawa called The Beast To Die released in 1980. In the film Matsuda plays a journalist who comes back to Japan after covering the Vietnam War. He loses his mind, gains an accomplice and goes on a violent crime spree. Matsuda lost weight and even had some of his back teeth removed to appear more gaunt for the role. That's commitment! Murakawa also directed several episodes of the TV series Tantei Monogatari (Detective Story) starring Yusaku Matsuda. Clearly they enjoyed working together.
